  Lots of great posts on here. The glass is definitely half full. It will soon be completely full. As much as I expected from the rookies; Gallagher, Galchenyuk they both exceeded expectations. I think the coaches handled them well and they will both improve. I have been a Habs fan since the late 60s/early 70s thanks to an older brother. I remember listening to Habs/Hawks finals on the radio........ Some random thoughts: PK and Alexei on Defense is a great place to build, especially with Tinordi looking at good as he did late in the season and playoffs, he too will grow physically and mentally and show his true mettle. As much as I hate to say it, Markov is showing the miles on his body. I think we can expect to see the same ending for him with an 82 game schedule next year. We do need to get tougher on defense. I would probably buy out Kaberle and Gionta (I don't know the buyout rules) , one is soft, the other is spent (as big as his heart is). Moen - doesn't add the spice we need to offset his lack of threat scoring wise. Similar situation to when we let let Tom Kostopolous go. I think we should keep Ryan White (let's not make the same mistake we made when we let Aaron Asham go). I really think we will be able to reshape the lines next year. I like the way Eller played this year, he showed a lot of moxie and just how good he is skating with the puck, he's still young and hasn't peaked yet. Maybe we trade Plex for Kesler? Doubt Canucks would go for that. No way can we re-sign Ryder, not physical enough and got checked to the point he was invisible late in the season and playoffs. The Price is right. Got to give him a little help up front for a deep playoff run. There are a number of areas that need to be tweaked, tweaked being the key word, but I think most of the areas have been addressed by all the various posts on here. I do have confidence in Marc Bergevin and the organization. It will take some time, but it was nice to see a glimpse of what can be.... The ottawa series could have taken a completely different tact had Lars not been hurt and the obvious kick in goal was disallowed, both of which would change the currents of that river.   Laughable Jagr claims he wanted to play for Habs... He wanted to play for Habs only if they were dumb enough to overpay, like Dallas did. Without Claude Giroux lets see what kind of numbers he puts up. Can he be more than a shadow during the playoffs? I agree with Bergie, lets see what the young can do, like Gallagher. I really hope they let the new draftees season along with Tinordi and Beaulieu so when they step in to the Bleu, Blanc, et Rouge they are ready to hold the torch!!!   No cap on contract length, if owners are dumb enough to keep GMs around who sign those contracts they deserve what they get. No matter what anyone says about Gainey he was always of the perspective that 10 year contracts don't make good sense. Heck 6 years is probably the max depending on the age of the player. MN is plain DUMB!!!! He shoots, he SCORES!!!!!!

  I agree, not worth giving that much away for Ryan.... Let's dance with what we have...... If we can trade some depth at D and Pleks for a good left wing then let's do it, otherwise don't overpay to get them to Montreal like we did for Gomer.... He shoots, he SCORES!!!!!!
