You make a good point loonie. With the dropping cap, some teams will have to move names based ob money alone, but they won't be wanting to take on salary. We shouldn't be burning our picks on rentals this season, we are well stocked to add quality guys in the offseason when teams back up dump trucks.

Of course. But I don't think too many teams would be dangling a first pairing dman for dd and one of the prospects we'd want to include.

Not resigning dd would be a mistake I think. Yeah we kind of have a glut of centremen right now, but he's a quality player and I would hate to see him in a different jersey.

The jackal gets it. Who have we gooned around to get to first in the east? Pittsburgh? Chicago? Anaheim? They don't rock enforcers So they "don't get pushed around". They play better hockey than everyone else more frequently and get a little lucky once in a while. Boston, as goon driven as they appear to be would be nothing if lucic was colton orr, chara was john scott, and if kreici, seguin and bergeron weren't stupidly good at hockey. I'm tired of reading " can he fight lucic or thornton?" It should be is he a better player than lucic? Or would he make our fourth line better offensively? Love our team. Can't wait for playoffs!

Most Definately, it didnt matter who markov was teeing it up for, with him on the ice, our powerplay was always strong.

I think we will make playoffs next year. yes im one of the 77% here's why. (this is almost a complete repost of my 1st post here, but i really like listening to myself type.) We DO have a top six on the squad already, we just haven't used them that way yet. We also have the best possible way to get Gomez to be a successful contributor. Madness you say? blind optimism? Nay! We clearly will be signing no one else besides Subban and Eller due to our lack of cap space (Gomez is going nowhere.) So we slide Eller up into the top six. I can hear you already, "He looks lost on the wing!". i agree, so you make him our second line pivot. Cole - Pleks - Gionta - Our "first" line, matches up against other top lines as its made up of three men who play a tight responsible defensive game, while are not slouches offensively. Patches - Eller - Desharnais - keep patch and dd together for their offensive chemistry, Eller gives this line a little more defensive responsibility so it doesnt have to be sheltered as much as the dd patches cole line. Eller is creative, strong on the puck, and doesnt give up on any play. Desharnais looked good on the wing 2 years ago and he wont get exposed as badly from there as he was in the middle. This line will work and likely result in career years for all three. Bourque - Gomez - Moen - Gomez and his giants. ok, theyre not THAT big, but moen goes to the net and bourque kinda floats but has a mean shot. Gomez is the puck carrier, he does his dopey " i just got across the blue line somebody take this thing" drop pass. bourque is your shooter, moen cleans up garbage. not spectacular defensively, but decent enough to beat up on other teams 3rd and 4th lines. Then we have our Prust - White/Nokia - Armstrong line which will just be more annoying for other teams than anything. Our D kind of hinges on Markov this year. if hes back, and i mean Really back. we are a playoff team without question. Subban-Gorges have already shown they can match up against other teams top offences, but im curious to see Subban Markov on our top pair, and put Gorges with Emelin, to afford Emelin some additional slack. Boullion - Kaberle to round out the bottom can play with other teams grinders just fine as franky will fight for the puck and kaberle can outlet it. they will obviously need to be insulated away from other teams top lines. but which other team has a lock down 5/6? Carey Price is an excellent goalie. period. He keeps us in nearly every game. This is our teams greatest asset and why im largely so confident we will be making it to the big dance next year. Disagree? probably. But to me this is the most logical way to use our assets and keep our draft picks doing their thing developing in hamilton. Exciting times my friends, exciting times. Have a great day.

which numbers show his slow glove hand and his mental weakness again? I encourage you to read lizardkings posts below. Those numbers dont lie and have a very different opinion.

I'm about to spew blasphemy all over this joint, you have been warned. Based on what im seeing and hearing from the GM, unless something blows MB out of the water, i dont see us adding any other significant pieces. Also, im going to go ahead and predict that the new CBA will not include a buyout option, and also im going to assume that the Habs will not send Gomez to Hamilton. Why? Habs are classy like that. Dont get me wrong, if we can dump him on a team looking to meet cap floor, you do it, but theres a distinct chance that Molson doesnt want to watch 7+ million of cap space sit in the press box. Well great, here we are, another season, and still +1 Alaskan. How will this work? I'll tell you. You break up the Desharnais line. Put the knife down and hear me out! its all about balance. You slide Eller into our top six, but not at wing. Cole - Plekanec - Gionta Pacioretty - Eller - Desharnais You now have two legit scoring lines who are responsible defensively. Patches and DD still have their connection offensively and DD was very effective on the wing the season before last, Pleks gets decent wingers and Eller gets top six minutes. everyone wins. What does that do to our bottom six? Glad you asked. Moen - Gomez - Bourque White - Nokalainen - Prust This actually give Gomez a chance to be productive again. You know who wins when Gomez is productive? Everyone except the team who subsequently accepts him in trade. He gets two big bodies, one of which who goes to the net, the other is kind of a floater with a good shot so Gomers dopey drop passes can actually be put to use. ill let you guess which one is which. Armstrong becomes our 13th man who you put in on White's and Prusts' wing when you really want to piss a team off (Toronto, Boston, Philly) they wont win a damn faceoff, but will be very physical. On D Subban - Gorges Markov - Emelin Boullion - Kaberle Diaz I actually like our personnel for the most part going into the season, and this totally insulates our kids, lets them do their thing in Hamilton. Sorry about the novel, but there you have it. Our next season.
