    not in todays league if you put up comparable stats you get comparable contracts...plus and its sad to say but player agents are generally much smarter and better negotiators than gms. there able to back gms in the corner with all sorts of comparables to profit there client.

    not for nothing but bob gainey was not incompetent. he made some really bad moves sure ( gomez, giving mcdonagh away in said gomez trade, the mikey ribs debacle) but him trading craig rivet for gorges and max pac, getting kovalev for nothing back in 04, drafting price and subban he wasnt perfect but the man did alot of good here, pierre gauthier is fair game but bob brought in alot of key pieces of this teams future.

    one good season??? the kid has 74 points in his first two years in the show is 22 and this past year was a plus 9 on the 3rd worst team in the league...but your right lets trade him because number 1 defencemen are so easy to find today...

    did you watch the games last year because, and not to be rude but man really did you watch any games last year?? you left out his 2.43 gaa .916 svp and 4 shots on the 27th best scoring team in the league.
