I think that MB knew what shape DSP is in. They bought low. DSP being out of shape is not even his fault... Anaheim told him to add weight in the offseason. He did... but 220 lbs on a 6'0" frame has slowed him down. The Habs see this and know that at the time of the trade the out of shape guy was producing the same as the guy who was in shape. Buy low, and when DSP is 205 lbs, he'll be a force to be reckonned with. 21 years old and 27 AHL goals is very hard to do, and thats what DSP was doing (along with his good playoff last year) with less weight before the Ducks told him to bulk up. If you want to argue that Chucky or Plekanec should be the number 1 centre; I'm all ears. If you want to argue Eller... sorry I don't see the offensive potential there. Go Habs Go! http://lastwordonsports.com/

He played games against Columbus and Florida on a line with Plekanec and Parenteau, right before the trade.... (Galchenyuk was out with the flu). Go Habs Go! http://lastwordonsports.com/

For the season, Lars Eller has 1 more ES point than Brandon Prust (Eller has more ES ice time too, and while they have played together alot when apart, Eller's linemates are better). Since January 1st ... Lars Eller has one more point than Manny Malholtra (far more ice time, far better linemates). In his last 16 games... Ryan White has the same production as Lars Eller has in his last 29 games. Ryan White is on Philly's third line. and more fun stats in that Eller piece. Lets stop blaming it on the linemates and comparing him to Desharnais.... He's not outproducing our third and fourth liners, if he was, maybe he'd have earned a promotion. Do you honestly believe a coach looks at a 22 year old kid and says... "I'm determined to ruin him". Really? You think this is the plan of the coach, to deliberately ruin a youngster? Go Habs Go! http://lastwordonsports.com/

The Big thing here is if Smith Pelly can go to the net and cause havoc in front of the goalie on the Powerplay. If he can do so, and pot some rebounds and down low passes, Montreal gets exactly what they need. The fact he is a right hand shot and Galchenyuk, Plekanec, Max, DD, are all lefties who like to work on the right hand side of the ice on the PP makes this work. And thats why he might fit in better than Sekac did. Go Habs Go! http://lastwordonsports.com/

If you catch a guy just above the pants, and in the Kidneys (which is where it looked like he got Kane), the pain can be debilitating for a second or two. That seems to be what happened here and Kane lost his balance. There is just no protection there. Much like a slash to the Calves (where there is also no padding) players know this, and if you are intentionally hitting this area, its a cheap shot. Go Habs Go! http://lastwordonsports.com/
