  Here's an idea we've overlooked. How about Gomer as player-coach. Maybe part of his salary cap number could be allocated to his coaching role. And if he's a really good coach he'd bench himself or even force himself to retire. Just a thought.

  The problem with Roy for GM is a lack of real experience. I'd hate to see the Habs be his "learning experience". There are too many GMs out there who would be jumping at the chance to take advantage of him. I'd like to see a guy like Paul Fenton of Nashville come in. He's been in hockey management for years. He was responsible for their draft when they took Ryan Suter and Shea Weber. He's helped build them into a serious Cup contender this year. The only drawback is that language thing, I don't think he speaks French. But that's the kind of guy we need in here. Not a flashy name with no experience, but a lesser known with years of "successful" experience.
