- Comment on Blue Jackets vs. Canadiens preview: Galchenyuk out with the flu (2015-02-21 08:34:58)
Eller's been a favourite in our household, pictures on the walls and door of my daughter's bedroom. As time has gone on, it's become apparent to me that something off the ice is an issue for Lars. Don't know what it is, can't even say it is for sure, but my intuition says yes. He is not playing with the same mental awareness as he did what, maybe 2 years ago? Could it be marriage at such a young age? Or a child? It's something, he looks lost out there, poor judgement, lost creativity he once seem to have. I too Hobie, am fearful he's going to be the one gone at the trade deadline and wish it wasn't so, but only if the other Lars came back. If not, he's been a little too frustrating to watch and wouldn't mind seeing him go.

Disappointed to read this CJ, I'm a rare poster, but regular reader and almost always seemed to acknowledge your thoughts and insights. Best of luck wherever life leads.

Seriously, like he said "clean the glasses", that's not the reason we lost Max, we just didn't bring it tonight and the worrisome part is we keep making excuses and justifying the poor losses. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the season, thus far, it's these type of games that they can also play come playoff time that is concerning, but I'll worry about that later, lol.

Go through life without expectations? Hmmm, wonder how that would work out. You surely must be only referring to hockey here?

Don't know if I can agree with that. Fora while now, this team has come to play with a sub-standard compete level and attention to detail, the Chicago game an exception. MT is reaching his shelf-life expiry date. Yes, he did some good things taking over the mess he inherited, but the next levels are beyond his skill set. As to the players, I've always maintained we have the talent, it just seems that MT and his coaching staff can't seem to devise a system that incorporates that talent wisely. Time to move on IMHO.

Ha, pretty funny if you need Hickey to help you punch anyone out, I must be mildly misinformed then

I don't think it's fair to term it "negativity" when a lot of the messages from posters are consistently concluding the same thing. Maybe "concern" is a more accurate description to which I would be curious as to your response then. Also, this game was against Toronto for God's sake, some of us have to endure their fans daily, so "frustration" could be another term. As we all realize, .500 hockey from this point on = no playoffs. If the glass is half full, why fill it eh? I do tend to agree with you though, patience and positivity, BUT only if I can see some evidence that changes are coming, and right now I don't, so excuse me for being concerned.

Yup, $280 per x 4, guess I have a right to bitch, chump change for the players. At least my daughter got to wear her Gallagher jersey with pride, but it still hurts.

Not a bad assessment by Boone. Was at the game, great seats, lower bowl Golds between the 2 benches, centre ice. Intentionally kept an eye on MT, I think he's done what he's capable of, can't see him take our team to the next levels. I truly believe this team has the talent, evenwith the size issue, but the execution and deployment requires a better equipped coach. I have to think that a seemingly bright MB is going to have to seriously assess this team pretty soon and make the necessary changes because even though they are likely making the playoffs, it may be a short run again. Lastly, it truly hurts living in T.O, paying huge bucks for 4 seats, and then having to watch us lose and endure the obnoxious Leaf fans, why oh why can't we just beat them here.
