- Comment on Habs sign Fournier, three more prospects; camp ends Sunday (2013-07-07 02:18:21)
Am I the only one here (if this hasn't been talked about in pages to far back for me to review) that is surprised Fournier went undrafted? I look at his numbers, they steadily improved each year, he wins the memorial cup, had a great playoff doing so, has 6'3" size and decent weight... penalty minutes are up making me believe he may have an edge... The teams Captain... I mean, we drafted McCarron for potential but on paper I see the same if not more... Is this an awesome pick up for nothing or am I missing something here... someone please, if you saw him play, straighten me out. and on a less then impressive note... At 22 seconds into this video and a highlight I watched on t.v. leads me to believe this kid needs to really work on his balance and skating.. But let's hope! He's a big lad. Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swjqHdB3WnQ

Where's Prust? Halpern stinks. Lecavalier is old. Armstrong is not worth signing... Blunden can do what he did. Is Moen traded in that scenario? Who on earth takes him?
- Comment on Avalanche won’t take Jones with No. 1 pick (2013-06-19 17:28:12)
I wonder why Colorado will pass on Jones for 1st overall?? Oh wait.. maybe it's because he looks like he should be going 1st overall in the PS3 gamer NHL draft. Unreal.. go to the gym kid - you look like a slob. Can't imagine what you would look like if you didn't play hockey daily!

Can some of you give it a rest for a while? All these bloggers and their non-stop complainaing of this player, that player, not good enough...yadayadayada. PLEASE - Our Habs 6-1-3 in the past ten games, their currently on top of the East regardless of games in hand. They are playing fantastic hockey, defensively sound and making great progress offensively. Yet all I read is he's gotta go, lousy effort... Some days you don't play your best game, some time you don't get the bounces and you don't win every game. So let's relax a bit and enjoy a great year to date! And for the Gionta critics...and the Cole critics be reminded - This team stunk when Gio was out of the line up so I think he brings some leadership to this team. As for Cole - he pumped 36 goals last year and every one of you loved him. Give him a chance - he's a strong player and will come around.. It just makes me laugh... some of us Hab fans are endless complainers... When things are going great we still need to find something to gripe about...

2nd goal I believe

I mentioned that above - It's impossible to directly compare Del Zotto and PK - Different teams, different situations, ice time, opportunity. The same argument could be made the other way - What if Del Zotto had PK's time and opportunity he had last year? Maybe Del Zotto has 55 points? Impossible to know.

And if Markov was healthy PK would have been too. ** Oh - and I'm not saying the Kaberle thing is a strong possibility - I'm saying that you never know what needs a team could find themselves in who need experienced D. Hey - we took him!

PK is good defenseman, no question, and he has a lot of upside as well. Benn is good power forward who's improved steadily for the past three years and is well worth 5 Million per year based on his production. The two are not comparable. I still think Del Zotto is a more direct comparisson. His point total was higher and his plus minus was better. That being said, he was on a better team so that needs to also be taken into consideration. Who knows what PK would do with the NYR. I could care less about PK's intagibles off the ice or being a face of the Canadiens. At the end of the day and this being my point... Trade him. Montreal has a pleathera of young defenceman in the system that are on the way up. Diaz and Weber have similar offensive games to PK (not the skating or maybe the shot) but an offensive mind. Diaz has a lot of upside and seems to be overlooked all the time. When given the opportunity, he's shining. This is a short season and at the end of the day I would put an asterik beside the name of the Cup champ. Pk is a player that would give them back a strong return and potentially allow you to dump salary ie. Kaberle in the deal - You never know. I've always thought the Habs needed to do something with the extra bodies that spend a lot of time in the press box in years past. Well, maybe this is the solution - play 'em and build a stronger front end.
