- Comment on About last night … (2014-05-23 11:01:48)
A few thoughts from N.B. Habs fan. 1. Prust's hit was late and I wouldn't be suprised if he gets a game or two suspension. Carbomb's elbow to the linesman's chin should get him a minimum of 10 games. 2. Give Briere more ice time please. I don't have the stats at my side but I bet he has the most points per minutes played for the Habs in the playoffs. 3. How long does MT keep Vanek in the lineup in hopes that he decides to give a crap enough to try. The guy could be a beast but seems uninterested. 4. Can't remember seeing a nice goal by our guys this entire series. Would be sweet to see some crisp passes ending up in a goal. What we've gotten so far are 6 goals that have been mostly lucky. Don't get me wrong, I'd rather win ugly and lose pretty. 5. Tokarsky played great but should we get past the Rangers, does Price have a chance to be healthy enough to play? I hope so. 6. Friends, we are down to the final four and still alive and kicking. I'm damn proud of this team and am wearing the colors with pride. Go Habs Go

So proud of the team's effort last night and for that matter, during all the playoffs. So excited to have gotten a couple of tickets and planning to drive from N.B. tomorrow night. This is the first time I've done this since 2010 when I came to game four vs. the Flyers. Hope for a better result this time.

Just saw Lucic acting like a fool while being interviewed after the game. What a douche. Defeat looks good on him.

Couldn't say it better myself. Soooooooooo nice. Cherry will have a fit. Ha Ha Ha
- Comment on Habs vs. Bruins will start Thursday night (2014-04-30 13:03:41)
Have enjoyed reading many of the predictions, love and hate for both of the teams. I really think it comes down to this. If the Hab can get the power play to score at 20% or thereabouts when the Bruins take their cheap shots, we will have a good chance to take the series. If they are able to use their size and or dirty play without consequence on the score sheet, we probably will not. That being said, all I really am hoping for is a great series. Go Habs Go.

This has been the most fun I've ever had reading HIO. I'll keep my own story short. I started watching hockey at four years old. My father didn't really like hockey, or being a father for that matter. Being the hard ass semi-racist that he was, he would always say that his favorite team was whoever was playing the Canadiens. I'm sure I started to like Montreal just to piss him off. Guy LaFleur was always my favorite and I'm so glad I got to see him play one time at the Forum during his time as the best player in the league.
- Comment on Habs get day off after loss to Bruins (2014-03-13 13:07:09)
All the talk saying Carrie Price could play if we really needed him to has lead us to the place where he needs to be back in the net by Saturday. Budaj is a solid backup but he can't carry the load himself. We need our best player on the ice if we want to get things moving in the right direction. Last night, one horrible and two semi soft goals got in our net. I thought ours guys played about as well as the Bruins but didn't get the same level of goaltending you need to win. I agree with the posters who are suggesting that Vanek gets off the Gio, Pleks line. He needs to be on a line that isn't being asked to stop the top line from the other team. I'm not going to jump on MT's back like so many of the others around here but I'd like to see a few changes. Not sure another day off is warranted after last night's game. Gotta go dig out of a foot of snow in my yard. Cheers

The reason we struggle 5 on 5 ultimately comes down to size. We don't have guys with both skill and size to maintain a cycle or to get to and make a play out of a dump and chase. We have lots of small skilled or big guys with little skill. We need more guys like Patches with a dash of Prust in there for some sandpaper.
- Comment on Habs’ Therrien faces heat while Guy Boucher takes coaching job in Switzerland (2014-01-27 13:31:28)
Our fans soil their pants when we suck for a week, 2weeks, or a month. Don't want to hang around to see what would come out of being at the bottom of the league for a few years in a row. For every Pittsburgh that got Crosby and Malkin for two years of suckitude, there is an Edmonton or Buffalo who has had awful results for several years with not much but high hopes. Being smart at finding treasures deaper in the draft ( Gallagher ) is every bit as important as high draft picks. ( Leblanc ) I'll still take winning and I think that most of us would prefer that too. We are just soooo frustrated right now that we are all banging our heads.

First post of the season. Still like to read the comments of those who love to bash or cheer on the team but as we all know, the past weeks have been most difficult. Just a few points to pass along from the East Coast. First: The best way to watch the games is to PVR and begin an hour or so after the start. I watch the game until we begin to lose, then just start fast forwarding until we get back in the game. The last few games saw me essentially just flying through the second and third periods. No goals or even fights to require me to go back and watch again. Really a time saver and lessens the frustration. Second: To those who think we should start to tank. Really? The team might not be playing their backsides off for MT but they are still pros and I still want them to win every game. I'll take a trip to the playoffs with an early exit to no trip any time. It wasn't that long ago that we went into the playoffs with little hope but a goalie got hot, some shots went in, and before we knew it, we went three rounds. The key here is how you are playing as you get there, more so than how we are playing now. Third: From watching CH24, it seems to me that Gerard Gallant is the best communicator in the dressing room and on the bench. If MT is let go, I'd like to see him get a shot if no real upgrade is available. Cheers
