- Comment on GM Bergevin to hold press conference on Monday
Greetings from down East. My post mortem on this season will be brief. Had a great time watching the team make a comeback from the depths of hockey Hell. With new leadership at the top, I truly feel they will continue to improve. What to do next? Untouchables: Gally Chucky Pk Prust Eller Perfer to keep but not essential: Trade if you can get bigger, meaner, tougher, better. Max Pac Emelin Price Bourque Pleks Unload the rest for whatever you can get: Everyone who's left (not including kids on the farm) Not trying to stir up crap with this but WE HAVE TO GET BIGGER. Time to stop saying it. It's time to start doing it. BTW, I really appreciate coming to this site to read the thoughts of everyone who posts. (Including Timo and those who are not afraid to make things spicy.) Imagine how boring it would be if it were all just people like me who usually just look to the positive. Even though I rarely make posts myself, I read daily. The playoffs are not as much fun to watch once our guys are gone but I always pull for Canadian teams. While I don't think either Toronto or Ottawa will do it this year, who knows for sure? That's what makes NHL playoff hockey so much fun to watch. Cheers - Comment on About last night ...
Wouldn't bet the farm that the Habs will win any series during the playoffs but I wouldn't bet against it either. Certainly would prefer to see them come up with 60 minutes of hockey over the next two games. If they are firing on all cylinders then we have a chance. If we get slow starts or poor goal tending then it might be short and not so sweet. Either way doubt it matters with Pittsburgh playing so well. If they get their studs back, they will be unbeatable. Of course, Chicago may have something to say about that too. Either way, it's been a fun season, and the playoffs should continue to be interesting hockey. Cheers - Comment on Budaj will start in goal against Penguins
Haven't made many comments of late but feel compelled to remind everyone that we are still having a much better year than any of us expected when the season began. The problem with the success we've had so far is that it got us very excited about visions of Lord Stanley coming back to town in the near future. Well, that may still be the case, but anyone who has ever played sports knows that sometimes a team goes into a funk. Sometimes it's bad bounces, sometimes it's playing against a hungrier team, etc. The only thing I can say is that I've had a great year watching the games and while it might have been nice to get some help at the trade deadline, we didn't and we have what we have. That is a hard working young team with a chance to get very good over the next few years. Pittsburgh didn't get Crosby and Malkin because they were great. They got them because they sucked for a few years in a row. We only had to endure one year of suckage before we climbed back into the mix. Hell, Toronto... you don't need me to continue do you? Let's just enjoy the good, don't jump off the bridge when we lose, and forget about the games against Philly and Toronto. I really hope and expect a much better effort against Pittsburgh tonight but if not, I won't crap on everyone with a CH on their chest. And yes, my glass is always half full. Sometimes with optimism too. Cheers - Comment on Liveblog: Canadiens romp 4-1, complete season sweep of Carolina
That's it. Just charged my favorite current player to Brendan Gallagher. - Comment on Battle in Beantown tonight; Price in net again
I expect fans to be biased, and to a certain extent I can see reporters doing so as well, but the article I saw looks like it was written by Julien himself. - Comment on Battle in Beantown tonight; Price in net again
Just read a story on Boston Globe where the so called reporter rips into the Habs again for diving last game and expecting the same tonight. Was probably the most biased and unprofessional newspaper story I've ever seen. Nothing like throwing BS on an already stoked fire. Man I hope we beat that team tonight. Go Habs. - Comment on Subban back in the spotlight again; Halpern claimed off waivers
When I was at the Boston game earlier in the month the crowd was on PK all night. Some of that is no doubt the color of the jersey he was wearing, part of it was that his abilities scare the crap out of them. I can't help but wonder how much of that is related to the color of his skin. I also wonder what Malcom is thinking when he hears that type of reaction? Things are interesting now, imagine what they will be like when he reaches the show and PK is firing lazers at little brother wearing the enemy colors. And for a non hockey thought, if anyone is looking for some absolute great new rock, check out the new effort by Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters. The album is called Sound City and it is a gem, just like PK Subban.
