With you Mustang. Also, I have never understood why the players think they need Union's and agents.

UCe 100% agree with your coment. I played hockey to junior and rugby later on in life and rugby is 10x as tough a game and never do you see the fake machismo you see in hockey. I find fighting is an embarassment to the game and keep watching because of the speed and skill. They allow fighting because they think it will sell hockey to the knuckle draggers in the red states and it never has. Players do what they can get away with - hockey players fight, soccer players abuse refs and roll around a lot. Rugby, well have a look at this payback - Josh Luwesy (eng) on Mat Rogers (aus) http://www.rugbydump.com/2006/08/7/josh-lewsey-big-hit-on-mat-rodgers

Correct - when there were 6 teams (even the Leafs won regularly) & the Habs had first refusal on all QC players – 3/4 first round draft picks EVERY year,. The big change is that hockey is now a business and the #1 company in any industry is the one with the best management. I don’t understand why Montreal, the team with most money has the worst management. Find the best management possible at any cost - pay GM & Coach 5 & 8 mil each & take your pick. Good management would not have Gomez & Kab & ________ , _______; we’d have saved a fortune, have plenty of CAP space, flourishing draft picks AND a great team. Last I looked you can pay the management anything & not affect squat other than results. Forget he language issue (do you really think the fans would be any happier with any French speaking coach????) – go get the best, it makes good business sense.

Great points D&D. Habs dressing room atmosphere is like being in a factory where they've just announced major redundancies or salary cuts for all. In Montreal the team aura is always a roller coaster - we're going to win the cup, oops my mistake, looks like last place! As much as anything, I think his is why so many players would rather not play in Montreal
