WHERE R THE PRICE BASHERS! 1st STAR!
  • Comment on About last night ... (terse and pithy edition)
I read alot of comments in the Live Blog at the conclusion of last nights set back. Over 1700 comments at that time. Not surprisingly most of them were directing the blame towards Carey Price for the loss. These fans will never learn. They will be more upset with the alternative to CP after they run him out of town....trust me. However, it is true that a GOALTENDER was to BLAME for the LOSS last night. His name is CRAIG ANDERSON. Tough to win any game in which a goaltender performs like that. I truely believe that if the Habs had of been able to solve Anderson during the 5 on 3 and if a D man (I will not name him) had of been stronger on the clearing attempt in his own end before Ottawa's 3rd goal, this game would have gone to the Habs. IMO, Craig Anderson cannot be expected to perform like that for the entire series. It would be nice to see Ryder, Bourque and Patch spend more time in front of Anderson creating some of the problems Gallagher creates in front of the net. MT should also talk to his corp of D man about the samething. Although I understand they are not a great physical group, they have to be more dilligent in removing oppostion from the crease. IMO, these two items of housekeeping combined with the same offensive game plan should knot this series back at 1 each. Don't forget '93. Down 2-0 to the Nords before Muller slid one past Hextall for the first of 10 OT wins during that quest. It's only one game, plenty of hockey left.
  • Comment on Habs can clinch playoff spot with win in Buffalo
Although I feel quite confident about the Habs chances against the Leafs in the playoffs, here is the only thing that worries me: The Canadiens have a 7-5-3 record against the Northeast Division and an 18-4-2 mark against the rest of the conference If you believe in this then our chances to go deep on a run lies within staying out of our division.

His family have a successful home building business in Halifax, where he is from. My home is actually one of their products. So to answer your question, that goof would still be doing pretty good without hockey.

Correct me if I am wrong but this team has gone 13-1-4 in its last 18 games. It would be quite hard for them to miss the playoffs at this point in the shortened season. With the depth this team has and if they can stay free of major injury, this team can go deep into the playoffs because for the first time in many years the players have secure, confident upper management and they are being coached. The Habs will not win every game. I thought they showed good character in battling back in the 2nd & 3rd periods last night. If PK had of made that hit and changed the momentum of the game, everybody would be demanding he win the Norris trophy today. Cheer up! Go Habs Go!
  • Comment on Audio: Price signs for six years, $39 million
Look at how many games this team lost by one goal last season. Price could have easily went 36-18-11 with a little more offense in front of him. No question that he is the cornerstone of this proud franchise for the next 6 years. Thankful to have him.
