- Comment on Pacioretty, Bourque will be in lineup against Capitals
There is a recurring theme that MB did not do enough at trade deadline. That comment shows a lack of understanding. The trade deadline is traditionally the time for last minute shopping with inflated prices. Well ahead of everyone including the genius Shero, MB pickup up a low risk guy with no future commitment and a third round draft choice for a underperforming and unhappy asset. This was done early and the evidence is the deal that was gotten. Acquiring Ryder in midseason at this point is the NHL trade of the year without considering contract and the draft choice obtained. MB then addressed a need for a strong face off man and picked up Jeff Helperin for nothing. Since his pick up the fourth line and the PK have improved. Then for a fifth round pick MB got Drewiske as a depth d man. All of these guys are playing so 1/6 of the starting lineup has been altered. In addition, MB auditioned 3 young D men who although are raw, did not look out of place as the 6th D man. In addtion, a veteran Kaberle is available should he chose to use him and the returns of Diaz a top 4 d man and Bourque a top 6 forward only strenghen the team. I would argue that MB did at least as much as Shero without a net loss to the roster and opened up 4.5 mil on next years salary cap. That is quite an achievement.
- Comment on Habs call up Tinordi from Bulldogs
Not sure other than size why everyone is clamouring for Clowe and Malone. These guys have the currently have same problem as Moen at twice the price. Moen has playoff experience and hopefully he can raise his game. Clarkson would be great but he will not be available without a significant change to the current roster or significant futures or both. In the case of the first two it is wishing for what we already have and in Clarkson's case probably dreaming.
- Comment on Putting a human face on the Erik Cole trade
Pk still UFA after next season, his bargaining power still limited.
- Comment on Therrien tinkers with lines; no NHL discipline for Leafs' Grabovski
Guest you did not see Buffalo game other night but he is only guy to score on break away this year. Not a great average but he has scored.
- Comment on About last night ...
I think he and Subban were healthy scratches the same game again I think it was in Winnepeg
- Comment on P.K. Subban at top of Habs' to-do list
47,000,000 is a large amount to pay for nothing and have it impact your cap for 22 years. That will not happen.
- Comment on A $60-million salary cap would hurt Habs in 2013-14
Everyone is using the 60 million committed figure which is based on the old CBA. Does the new CBA not role back all existing contracts?
