    1) Well put. I agree totally! I'm glad the Habs showed patience with him and he didn't end up a throw in trade somewhere. 2) By "beyond the playoffs" I mean past the first round..eventually to the finals...repeat standout performance in the following year. A mark of a good, if not great, goaltender is the ability to remain consistently good or great year to year. 3) I was speaking rhetorically but you are still remains to be seen just what Gallagher (B-GALL!) is. And let's face it, injuries are bound to happen..especially how and where he plays (in front of the net). Can't remember the last Habs player who consistently parked himself in front of the net...Claude Lemieux?? 4) Hey..It was just a question. He's been invisible for 5 games without even a shot on goal. We got him for his scoring touch and veteranship. Haven't seen either so far. Habs play a different style of hockey sure, but it's still the same game. Overall I think it was an OK signing and still do..I think there is upside to him so worth a chance on the term and dollars. He's trying but it just hasn't shown up yet where it counts. ------------------------------------- The more you know the less the better!

Great win last night. Good to see some pucks bounce our way for a change! Questions for year: 1) Is this Eller's big break out year? I think it is. 2) Can Carey backstop the Habs to the playoffs and beyond? Will Sochi interfere? 3) Is there a more ferocious player around the net than Brendan Gallagher? He's like a pitbull! Or rather a B-Gall! He works his tail off...marks the opposing players net as his territory...yaps to the other players..chases the puck like a favourite ball. 4) Is Briere the second coming of Gomez? The Drive for 25 marches on... ------------------------------------- The more you know the less the better!

I would not have made the trade either..even WITH the fore knowledge that with Savard we would win (my hypothetical being that we could only have won that year by doing the trade)

Wither the cost for the Cup? I was surmising the other day (yes..I do surmise) on what should be given up for the chance to win the cup once. If you KNOW you can win but need to give up your it worth it? Case in point: Chelios for Savard. With Savard, yes, we won the Cup..but lost out on another 20 years of solid D (the kind we're all looking for now.) Question of the day: Would you do this trade again? Having said all that..I like that MB is taking his time, not looking to sell the farm to be a city hero for a season..Love to see Torres or Wayne Simmonds in a Habs uni. Go Habbies!

I guess they would! Should make some good Boston\Habs matchups in a few years! ------------------------------------- The more you know the less the better!

So I guess chanting "SUUUBAAAN..SUUUBANN" would be a little counter productive if they are playing each other :) ------------------------------------- The more you know the less the better!

Ya don't think the Bruins would draft Subban, do ya?? Looks like they may need a goalie in the future.. ------------------------------------- The more you know the less the better!

I have nothing against Roy but I don't think he is right for the Habs head coaching position (GM is another matter) The reason being is that I don't think he could handle a player like he himself was.. I like his fire, I like his passion but I think there would be too much headbutting.

It would be very nice if we could replace Gauthier before the trade deadline. Frankly, the fact that he was able to pull the trigger on the Cammy deal scares me in that ownership is not keeping him on a short leash and he'll be around another year. Replacing the GM needs to come before replacing the coach for obvious reasons..doing it before trade deadline gives the new GM opportunities to clean house and make deals before the draft. If Habs are looking to rebuild..then rebuild. In my mind the nucleus of this team should be: Price, Subban, Patches, Plecs, Cole, Emelin and you build from there (not to say that Bourque, DD, Ellers, AK etc are fodder but you need players to trade for players and in my opinion, with the exception of Bourque, they all seem to be cut from the same cloth) With the way the season is going we may have a top 5 draft pick which hasn't happened since we won Price in the lottery (and the time pefore that we got Petr Svoboda) Our new GM needs to put those pieces in place first and then hire a coach he can work with. ------------------------------------- The more you know the less the better!

Firing GM Gauthier now would be a bad move. Molson needs to keep him on a short lease until the end of the season and then fire him (while looking for a replacement now...double underline French speaking) With any "luck" we'll finish low in the standings and generate a decent draft choice. We need the new GM in place before said draft day and we need this new GM to hire a new coach (no disrespect to Coach Cunnyworth but he is already staring up at the transaxle of the team bus from whence he was thrown under) New Improved GM needs to handle the upcoming re-signings and any future trades. In my mind there is only one untouchable on the roster and that would be Price (although there are several "I really don't wanna see traded" such as Plecs, Subban, Cammy, Gorges, Emelin, Cole) We need SIZE up front! Habs management is being as stubborn about this as Philly was with their goaltending for the last 15 years...We are, in fact, NOT fine in this regard...I know these types of players don't grow on trees but for God sakes at least plant the acorns!! What we have going for us is some talented youth..mentored correctly, they will pay off dividends! Happy New Year all!! ------------------------------------- The more you know the less the better!
