how is gionta the smartest player in the east? who is the smartest in the west? I don't understand your reasoning here. Gionta is marginally a first liner and Moen is no where close to being a first liner.... UFA pool is also very weak this year.... - Comment on No blockbusters among Habs' trade-deadline deals
why would you break up the best line we had and omit desharnais from our list of good forwards? Its more likely that kostitsyn won't return considering signing subban and price are a higher priority.... - Comment on Multimedia from Canadiens' Wednesday practice
the only problem here is you think subban will take 3m and carey 5m per year, which is wishful thinking at its peak. its going to take 11 million per year to sign them both, not 8. word around town is price declined a 7yr 49 mil offer because the term was too short. Tyler myers, keith yandle, jack johnson and marc staal all make north of 4 or even 5 million, giving subban only 3 is paltry. edit: problem 2: you've made gomez disappear! even if he was bought out, there would still be a caphit of 2mil or so for 4 years? - Comment on White, Palushaj to Hamilton
darche is fine, he does great as a 4th liner and makes few mistakes. is he replaceable? absolutely but he is by no means horrible, he has earned his place. I don't want a signature - Comment on Audio: Blueline swap brings Kaberle in deal for Spacek
ummm, this isn't that awful... Spacek wasn't going to be resigned after this season anyway and its not any worse than what we already have. consider the defensive stable: Kaberle Subban Gorges Gill Diaz Weber Emelin Subban Campoli St-Denis Markov 20 points in 50 games with Boston isn't awful. He's also been more durable than our veterans in terms of injury as of late. So if he comes in and doesn't produce its status quo, or you have a chance of relaunching a guys career at less than a mil more of the person he replaced who you were going to lose anyway. Not great but not abysmal Markov, Gill, Gorges, Subban and Kaberle + 1 kid is not bad for your starting 6. How will we react when Gill leaves?
