Great. The laffs won. If they make it out of the first round and we didn't, I'm gonna need a brown paper bag. Well, two of them. One to be sick in and the other to wear. =/ DDonais - Comment on Liveblog: Canadiens win 3-1, tie series
Wasn't expecting anything, actually, but 2 games is the least he should have gotten. At least there was some justice handed out by the spinning wheel of discipline. Now, boys, win one for your teammate(s)!!! Go Habs Go DDonais - Comment on Bring on the Senators!
Cheering for the Laffs, as the 'Lesser of two Weevils,' to quote Russel Crowe. Edit: not so much 'cheering for' as 'wanting them to be brutally ravaged and just manage to get by' DDonais - Comment on Liveblog: Canadiens comeback grounds Jets, clinches home ice for first round
One thing that does worry me is that the whistles are obviously away already. A lot of obvious clutching, grabbing and other garbage went uncalled, where their speed game was not allowed operate fully. Still, they were determined to fight through and did, so tonight ended well. And I know they didn't live by their PP's this year (tee hee) but if you let the slower, grabby teams have the advantage by not calling obvious holding and other penalties, it will make things that much more difficult. I'll take it! Still a few kinks to iron out, but almost everyone in bleu, blanc et rouge gave a super effort tonight. They could have easily mailed it in after ANOTHER trailing 1st period, but they didn't. And again after it went 2-1 Jets. LOVED the energy of Eller's line, and was pleasantly surprised by Desharnais' play. Just a few more tweaks and they're back in form. I ain't 'fraid o' no laffs!!! I have (hopefully) gained a little perspective over the last few weeks. I never thought the team was as bad as their record last year. I wasn't sure if they were AS good as their record before the slide. I guess the next two weeks will show us the final truth (final few reg. season games and first playoff games). Even if they don't live up to what we all came to expect, this has been a very good year. I'll take even one round of playoffs this year as gravy (even though I was still drooling for more). Now, what I would very much like to see is a complete effort. Please, boys, at least make games of the final few (if that is what the next handful of games become). Right now I'm having flashbacks of the late 90's/early 00's squads. Basically, no Wreck it Ralph Credo, okay? (you know, "I'm bad and that's good; I will never be good, and that's not bad.") Sorry, Cal. Have to disagree with you, even though I do agree that people often take sound bites or quotes out of context to strengthen their argument. But, when Savard says: "But he always tried … he always tried to win each game and he did not give many bad goals in a row and he kept us in the game all the time … sometimes we didn’t deserve to win and we won. But this guy is not doing that right now … " It's so clearly implied that he should just as well have come out and said it. Unless he's in the dressing room and hanging out with Carey, Mr. Savard (though due a good deal of respect) should keep his opinions about Carey's mindset to himself. He's not doing anyone any good by stoking the fire that a growing number of people want to use to burn #31 in effigy. Bottom line: Price is the current #1 goalie for the Canadiens. Like it or not, that won't change any time soon. He may not be playing his best, but this slide is definitely not solely of his making. You win and lose as a team. You should also be judged as a team. DDonais
