Yep - can't see MB going for the 4-year 30-mill, or anything anywhere close. My first thought when I heard he was available, and before I saw any of the numbers being dicussed, was 2 years at 3.5 or 4 mill. Probably shows why I'm not a player agent or GM somewhere. I would simply have a hard time giving such a big raise to a player who clearly is at the age of diminishing returns. He'd be a very useful addition, but only if it's at a fair price. And of course that's before even considering the cap or PK's impending contract. - put the benches back on opposite sides of the rink

Rush, is your point that this is a relevant article about Chick-fil-a and Thomas? Thomas is a jock, a man who gets paid millions because he has great hand-eye coordination, is flexible, strong and has quick reflexes. His opinion on political matters is completely uninteresting as far as a sports site on the Montreal Canadiens is concerned - at least in my opinion, which is probably not worth any more or less than Thomas', but then again no one writes articles about my opinions. They shouldn't be writing articles about Thomas' opinions either. It's trashy. Check out Tony Kornheiser on ESPN. He patently refuses to interview athletes. Why? Because who cares what they say, their only relevance is about what they do on the playing field. I'll take Bill Lee as an exception to that rule because he was always entertaining, and his quotes were usually getting him some kind of suspension, which did in fact affect the team. A slightly less severe form of Tony Kornheiser's opinion was our own Red Fisher, who wouldn't talk to a rookie regardless of the profession. I stand by my statement that I'd rather read about things that could potentially influence the Habs next season, like Doan's trip to Montreal next week, that he's asking for $30M for 4 years at age 35, or any of the things SmartDog mentions in his post below. Not sure why my posts aren't making it - here goes a 3rd attempt... This isn't a headline, or even news. Thomas is a wingnut of a goalie (redundant, considering some of the goalies I've played with). Chick-fil-a is owned by a wingnut. Wingnut supports anti-gay wingnut. Snore. Why not write about Doan's trip to Montreal next week, as reported by TVA & referred to by TSN (3 days ago)? - put the benches back on opposite sides of the rink

Good point, I always noticed that as well. They have to eventually release the information (otherwise what would capgeek.com do? :) I think you're right, it must just be that they will release the details later. Which of course begs the question - why not just release the details now? - put the benches back on opposite sides of the rink

Too bad, I kind of thought Blunden had a good upside. Wondering if arbitration-clerical-move would be good for PK too. A lot of other teams talk him and his attitude down, but I bet they'd love to have him and his attitude if they could. - put the benches back on opposite sides of the rink

I understand you disagree, and clearly you're passionate about the Habs, which is great. Calling me a loser, however, is not quite up to the usual calibre of posts on this site. - put the benches back on opposite sides of the rink
