  Bergevin made the right move with PK. He continued the bridge deal precedent, which all GMs should adhere to. PK will get his money but Bergevin made the cap more manageable while bad contracts expired. Moving forward, there will be lots of great D prospects to evaluate and dole out dollars to. Bergevin will be able to point to the Subban contract as reason for guys like Beaulieu and Tinordi to be more patient and not try to cash in on the 2nd contracts. (assuming they meet or exceed expectations)

  I'm really hoping for Horvat. He sounds like a perfect fit as our third young center. Galchenyuk, Eller and Horvat would have us set at center for a decade.

  I'm pumped. It's almost 1am here but I'll be up at 7am to watch the game no problem! I think this first game is massive for the habs. Carey needs to step up his game and the team will follow. I have a good feeling about this one.

  Trade Price for a young, rugged, scoring winger and tough D and then trade for Luongo on the cheap? I like Price but is it such a terrible pipe dream?

  Derek Morris could be a decent 6th Dman for the playoffs. I wouldn't give up more than a 3rd rounder though. Here is the opinion of Coyotes blogger Adam French: "Derek Morris: I've given him crap a lot over my time writing, but he's shown some great versatility. He brings physicality and every now and then some glimpses of his old offensive self from years ago. He's still a second pairing defender who can play 20-21 minutes a night including PK time."

  McBain would be a solid pickup if the price is right. I would be willing to part with a second round pick or a third and one of our middling D prospects.
