  The situation with Gomez is pretty straightforward: At 7,5 M$ actual salary this year, his cap hit is not yet a bargain so forget about the cap floor situation. As was said at the end of the season, management prefers to work another year with Gomez and is crossing its fingers hoping he will have a much better year than last year. Talk about exchanging him to a cap floor team will make sense next year when his actual salary becomes way lower than the cap hit on his contract - of course pending the CBA is renegotiated keeping the current approach to calculating cap hits and establishing a cap floor.
