Fair enough, but look at 2007 and the Habs selected 4 of the top 25 point producer's to date, and traded for Eller. How many team wish they had taken Pacio, Subban or McDonagh. Even Weber is up there!

Buddy based on your logic you and I are also making more than half the teams since they supposedly lose money. Here's an idea - how about the clowns managing the teams learn what a friggin budget is.

This talk about Jordan Staal has me really intrigued. What would it take to make him a Hab. Personally I see him as a solid #1 centre. As a Hab he solves the big centre that wins face offs problem and at the same time he has 40/40 potential. Pits would need to replace his defensive awareness and by the looks of their elimination, need a solid D to help. If I am Pit I ask for Pleks, Gorges and the Habs #1 pick Would you do it? I think I might. But I'd prefer Just Pleks and the number one or just gorges and the #1 Or at worst Eller and Gorges plus a pick (the lower the better)

Looking at the jobs he didn't get (Calgary, Minnesota) you could argue that they hired the wrong guy. Especially Calgary. What a mess.

Dude, how much do you think he makes as the analyst for NBC? I guarantee you it's more than any head scout or ass't GM in the league - without the workload. Personally I've never liked him schtick because he comes off as a "know it all" but if Scotty Bowman says he's the man, then he probably is. Can't argue that he is right 90% of the time. As much as I love Price, were he the GM at the time, we would have drafted Kopitar and would not have had to trade Halak. He also would have taken Giroux. This isn't hindsight, he said it at the Draft as it happened.

People! We are losing a lot of credibility as educated and intelligent hockey fans when we keep posting about Gallagher, Tinordi, Beaulieu and whatever other junior prospect being on the team next year or worse, being on a top line. Let's get serious, Gallagher looks good but will he be better than Nathan Gerbe? Every player in the NHL was a superstar in Junior. Ryan White was a sniper, Ben Maxwell was too. It's rare for a player who didn't make the jump to the NHL after their draft year to then all of a sudden skip the AHL after their junior career is done. They will likely all be in the AHL or make Leblanc type impact next year. Don't get me wrong, I think they are all great prospects, but likely will need a few years in the AHL to be ready.

I'll go a step further and say had the Habs kept Moore they'd be playing the Bolts right now instead of the Broons. He has proven year after year to be a clutch playoff performer. Don't you remember his hustle and tenacity in the Game 7 wins over Pit and Wash? Bergenheim can thank Moore for leading the playoffs in scoring, 90% of his goals were the result of Moore. The guy is the perfect 3rd liner and a bargain at 1.1 mil. Giving up a second rounder when he was a free agent til Christmas, well I agree with that, a waste. Could have had and kept him for free. As soon as they erroneously dumped O'Byrne the had the cap space. Poor management no doubt.
