after you reset your computer and before the windows screen starts up, you will usually see something saying press f8 ( or f10) to bypass the windows startup. press the f8 until you get the dos screens and follow the options to reset to factory defaults. once you do this the windows will reinstall itself. not a tech expert but had a similar prob resolved this way.

usually at start up, you can press the f8 or f10 and from there you can reset to the factory defaults. it will reinstall the windows. had a similar prob with a HP desktop.
