No point with all the armchair GMing. We need a top1, 2 or 3 pick to add to our existing core. We have had master duct tapers keep this team together, barely, for the last 20 years.... let it go and start anew. "chill out"

For you anti-tankers: Ottawa dumped players and salary last year in Feb (Fisher, Kelly, Ruutu, Elliott) brought up or gave more ice time to soon to be NHLers (Cowan, Greening, Butler, smith, Winchester). After they did this, they finished the last half of Feb to April at 14-9-1 and picked up a bunch of high draft picks along the way. They are now in a solid playoff position this year. Trade the guys you don't want to rebuild with for some high picks. Take the pressure off, have some fun &restock the cupboards and flush out the bad salaries. Tell LL to buy a house, keep spots for Gallagher, Tinordi, Beaulieu. Have some cash for a couple of free agents and suffer one more year (but maybe a Sens like surprise season) and bring the excitement back. We have the core and goaltending that with the addition of 1 star player.... Toews, Kane, Malkin, Stamkos, syd, Ovi, the Sedins... Were all drafted by crappy teams. We can't hope for the next Alfie or Datsuk seeking a diamond in the rough. Start the trading, I'm sure we will all be happily surprised at the results. It won't be a dreary Feb and march. I live in Ottawa and the city exhaled after they moved some key and loved players and the players played hard and fun.. And won games Some tough and unpopular moves to make, but Fisher is now forgotten and the Persian Prince is who Sens fans can't wait for (nice OT winner for the swedes in the World juniors)

I was at the game last night and sat in the end the Habs shot at in the first and third periods. I thought Carey was great, maybe it's due to my view, but Eller was the best player on the ice. I've also noticed more quotes from him lately as well, he is finally finding his place on this team and will be a true leader in a few years. It's been too long since we have had a BIG scoring line as well WHEN IS WHITE BACK?

WOW! Couldnt sleep after that. Spent the next 2 hours flipping between NHL Live, Antichambre, TSN, RIS, Sportsnet.....just to watch the replay again and again and again...... Hopefully those that use this site to constantly criticize will just enjoy this one and keep the good karma in the air. Proud to be a habs fan today!

Prediction this week: Play great but lose in OT to the Hawks Crush Ottawa at what will sound like another home game Have the spot in the bag, give some rest to key player and lose to the Leafs 6th place & play the B's

Long time reader..first time poster, so be gentle! I love the multitue of insights on HIO, but I dont get the blood thirst for 'The Counts' head. People always want what they dont have (i.e. Boucher) , and I think too many people overlook what we do have. Ya I wish JM would chew out the refs once in a while, but I respect him nonetheless, you know what you are going to get. How many peole honestly saw the Habs in this position, 7 points up on a playoff spot with 6 games to go, last October? And this was with the assumption that we would have Markov, Georges, Spazz etc healthy for the year. We have overacheived IMO. Yes, the last week has been frustrating to say the least....Cammy, Gomer and others have underperformed, but right now, ill bet thre is at least one of the bottom 3 teams that make the East will be in the conference finals..... Why? Goaltending. The best goalies are on Mtl, Buffalo & Rangers. There has been very few exceptions to an average NHL goalie hoisting the cup: Niemi & Osgoode come to mind. Although TT has had an amazing year, ill reserve judgement for the playoffs on him. He has had it relatively easy as compared to the others in terms of workload & a more talented defense & overall team in front of him. Alot of that will change in April. The 'scary' teams are Philly, Washington and I hate to admit, the Pens.....they all got there by finishing last for a while & getting superb draft picks.... I live in Ottawa and trust me, its no fun having the lead story on the radio being how many points you are out of last so you can get the high lottery pick. Poeple in the senior management team are there because they are competitive by nature, they need to do whatever they can to at least maintain their position. Ottawa did that for the last few years and now they are going to be bottom feeders for the next 3-4 years. I dont recall the last time we had a top 1-3 pick, yet the Bleu, Blanc, Rouge always give me more good than bad.
