Bob Cole all damn day over Jim Hughson. Chris Cuthbert's the best, though. ______________________________________________________ Double or nothing on the Kraken bet.

Hyper-crytical, turn on a dime fans are the end result of the 24 hour news cycle on sports. 20 years ago the bulk of fans watched a game a week and read about the team in the paper. Now we know what the players ate for breakfast. Bound to affect how we look at the team. 1 game, 3 games or 5 games is too small a sample to understand what this team is about. Go back and watch those NHL Network championship season reviews. The '86 edition of the Habs, if you watch the NHL Network show, was all over the map it seemed. It won a bunch, lost a bunch, had shoddy goaltending and defence, then won the cup. Keep that in mind the next time a game is stolen or an egg is laid. As far as moving forward this season, I doubt we'll see a splash at the between now and the deadline. Far more valuable to let it ride, keep all our picks, and see what we get for the next 10 seasons. Look at this season as a bonus. If it continues, great! If not, they seem to be farther along than anyone expected. Word. ______________________________________________________ Double or nothing on the Kraken bet.

Love their Tankhouse, Cobblestone Stout and the Doppel Pils. Delicious beers from those guys. Sad it's as easy to get a variety from them, maybe even easier, than it is to get local N.S. brews in my small town liquor store. Edit:To answer the question, home brewed dry stout, 2 pints left. ______________________________________________________ Double or nothing on the Kraken bet.

Which will be Ryan O'Byrne's biggest Habs legacy, the purse stealing or the own empty net goaling? Poor SOB. ______________________________________________________ Double or nothing on the Kraken bet.

My $0.02 on why Price seems rusty and Ryder is out of the flow is the teams (likely all of them) don't get to practice enough. Price is a fundamental/positional goalie. He's not athletic in the sense of flopping around to make saves with the back of his heel. He gets in position, plays angles and percentages, and when he is on, he is on. When he's off he seems to need time to get in tune again. Limited rest and practice time this season leaves little chance for his tune ups. It is what it is. Ryder comes in to town on a hot streak and is thrown into action. Then he goes cold in our eyes while he gets juggled around the line up a little while he and the team try to find his place. Limited practices leave little but game time to sort out chemistry and rhythm. Get him set up in his sweet spot in the PP and his goals total will start to creep up again. I think some of the confused defensive coverage the last few games should be chalked up to the same reasoning. Practice makes perfect after all, and not getting to work on schemes and planning enough led to the sloppy play. With a new system this season, 6 days of training camp and 90 minute skates every other day are going to manifest themselves in games where the team is not prepared. And isn't overloading the puck side of the ice likely to leave a guy open? I never understood why the talking heads loved this defensive scheme so much...... ______________________________________________________ Double or nothing on the Kraken bet.

I've often wondered that too. If he doesn't have it on a given night, he doesn't have it. It's not like he's putting in time on the factory floor for 8 hours whether he wants to be there or not...... Pull the plug, cut the losses for the night. ______________________________________________________ Double or nothing on the Kraken bet.

This is where this team went wrong with Mike Ryder before. Let him park and shoot, simple. 30 goals for 3.5 million is a steal in the current player market. ______________________________________________________ Double or nothing on the Kraken bet.

Trouble with playing them, or a team like them (I'm looking at you Boston,) in a playoff series is even when you get by them you're short a couple of concussed hockey players going forward. ______________________________________________________ Double or nothing on the Kraken bet.
