I don't know about Gainey's contract but why would he leave the Habs for the Leafs?? Just as all the work he's been doing is paying off and we're going onto our 100th anniversary? -- "Now, now my good man, this is no time for making enemies." - Voltaire on his deathbed in response to a priest asking that he renounce Satan.

A little off-topic but does anybody have a website which shows the contracts for all the Montreal Canadiens players?? Just wondering who we might lose and who will command a significantly higher salary next year?? Thanks in advance! -- "Now, now my good man, this is no time for making enemies." - Voltaire on his deathbed in response to a priest asking that he renounce Satan.

I dunno about Price relaxing.. I think he looked a bit stiff out there at the beginning of the game. Also, he played it very safe and always kept the puck. I have nothing against Price but in my eyes, he has to prove himself as a Montreal Canadiens first. Yes, he has a lot of accomplishments, but this is the NHL. I fervently hope that he has what everybody predicts he has. -- "Now, now my good man, this is no time for making enemies." - Voltaire on his deathbed in response to a priest asking that he renounce Satan.

Actually, they do offer a breakdown.. it's on the reverse side of the bill. ;) -- "Now, now my good man, this is no time for making enemies." - Voltaire on his deathbed in response to a priest asking that he renounce Satan.

That's very interesting, thank you for a very informative post! I think to be fair to the Club though, the salaries of the players have hiked up quite a bit as well, not just in terms of inflation though, no? -- "Now, now my good man, this is no time for making enemies." - Voltaire on his deathbed in response to a priest asking that he renounce Satan.

Mr. Boone, I was wondering if you ever think that the referees are being unfair or that referees cost the Canadiens some games. I'm just curious since I have never seen you make any comments of that nature. I know that on occasion the fans absolutely howl about the the quality of the refereeing (my significant other certainly was on Tuesday although we still won). What is your point of view on it? Do we just see it because we are Habs fans? Do the refs make an equal number of mistakes for the opposing team and we just don't see it? Or does the US in particular have something against the Habs (some people are absolutely convinced of this). Thank you! -- "Now, now my good man, this is no time for making enemies." - Voltaire on his deathbed in response to a priest asking that he renounce Satan.

I don't follow your point.. I think that the price of Blue tickets even for the Stanley Cup final is reasonable. 55.50$+tax. Come on, that's like two movie nights. And, let's face it.. if the Stanley Cup final were to ever come to Montreal, a lot of people would be willing to sacrifice more than just a couple of movies to attend this historic event. I think I heard some time ago that the average salary of the Canadian population is around 32000$ (I'm too lazy to go through http://www.statcan.com/). If that is the case, the AVERAGE Canadian can well afford tickets to the game. Provided that they can get them at face value of course. -- "Now, now my good man, this is no time for making enemies." - Voltaire on his deathbed in response to a priest asking that he renounce Satan.
