So anyone else think habs will likely not make playoffs next season? Every team in our old division has a serious sniper; kessel, eriksson, vanek, ryan. Tinordi's our biggest d and all the other teams have someone his size or even 2-3, but are much better. Ya we have pk, but chara, phaneuf and karlsson are either comparable or better. All the other teams have a bigger, meaner, forward group than ours. Sorry to say it folks, but we're gonna get our proverbial asses kicked next year. I love me habs, but this team - and fans - should expect and hope to win in 2017. I think we shouldn't get our hopes up until 2017, and I've already reserved any championship hopes till then. Why? For one thing, since it's been so long since montreal had lay won a cup, for us fans it'll be worth the wait to win it in Toronto's Centennial year. Also, it'll give enough time for the group of youngsters to fully develop that by then they should be well-accustomed to the rigors of the nhl and have reached maximum output. Price will either be a solid steady veteran star goalie OR fucale will be an up and coming star. I also think by then 1 major trade will occur involving a superstar player. There's so many other variables that obviously have to occur, but this season.. my hopes are really dim, unless MB moves for someone who can really snipe. I hate the leafs, but the moves they've made this off season I wouldn't be surprised if they make a cup run. Man do I detest saying that! I hope I'm wrong about almost everything I've said, but some things aren't that hard to figure out. Is Ryan clowe the answer? No I don't think so, although he'd certainly help the present group. Would clutterbuck have been a good pick up? Certainly, but I don't know how much of an impact he's going to have compared to niederreiter in minny(nino is Good!). I would've been inclined to offer louis and a 2nd to either NY or minny for any of those players. So who's out there via trade to improve this teams scoring output? I'd say one would have to get creative and risk losing some to get more. If I had to offer some players, I'd be looking at surplus positional players and expiring contracts. Names that come to mind are deshairnas, markov, gionta, LeBlanc, moen. Any combination of those players plus future Draft picks should garner some interest..I would hope anyways. We'll also have to see what happens cap wise with PK and eller and any other players coming up in the ranks like the Gals, Tinman and Beaulieu.

Hey...I dunno if anyone can help me with this, it's a bit off topic to what you guys are discussing, but I thought I'd give it a shot: I'd like to know the name of the song played at the beginning of most overtime games at the Bell Center this season. I think it's a house or dance or trance or something of those genres type of a song, whatever it is it really got me pumped up! I've exhausted myself for a couple hours now - well, weeks really - trying to even find a clip of it on the internet, so finally I found it on Youtube. I tried using the SoundHound app but it won't recognize it because of stupid Gary Galley & Bob Cole's commentating overtop of it. Here's the link, it's at 1:46:11. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrX_JCfKoRQ ...It's the game against the Penguins, remember that one, 7-6 in OT?! Thanks to anyone who can help me out in any way. I'm not sure how I can receive notices from anyone replying to this post, so i'll just throw out an email of mine if anyone finds anything out firstname.lastname@example.org . Merci!

- this team was better last season than their record indicated. With that being said, is this team able to win it all this year? Standings don't mean shit..that being said, do we mortgage the future for 1 or 2 key players. This Draft is going to be deep.. could pick up more than a few gems, but then again this year could be ours..if sending picks is the option I'd like to see Ryan Clowe.. he's big, nasty and just the type of physical player we need to face the bruins, and add Morrow to that as well..bye bye to gionta, a 2nd and a 3rd and weber..I propose trying eller at that point on PPs
- Comment on Desharnais gets four-year, $14-million deal (2013-03-15 09:40:06)
Either some of you must've been very bad at math in school or you're on crack! Ellers not going anywhere. This deal is not about the configuration of our centers, rather, the due reward of a player in his prime who went undrafted and has worked his tail off in the face of adversity because of his size and had succeeded on every level and had played at a very minimal salary, plus, has ridiculous chemistry with one of our key core players in Max pacioretty ever since they laid eyes on one another in Hamilton and its been lights out for these 2 ever since. Eller will get his contract soon and there's no reason to suggest that either him or pleky will be moved until at least galchenyuks entry level is up in 3 years... so just chill, alright?
- Comment on Habs deal Cole to Stars for Ryder (2013-02-26 20:01:20)
Oh yeah and did I mention the prior chemistry with pleks and markov? Should be good for the power play. And that 3rd rounder will be made to gold by this new front office in a deep Draft.

Hate to say it, but I called it, except I was thinking of o'Rielly. I knew c Cole was going to be traded, one for his comments regarding the cba and another concerning the schooling of his kids. To me that signaled loss of motivation and it showed in his play. I saw some of you on here citing trading Cole a bad idea (probably the same guys who said Gomez was going to resurrect his career in San Jose) and are calling this trade bad, calling out habs fans for not giving players a chance, but know this that as a hab fan and like other hab fans we are knowledgeable and no doubt so are ya'll, but this trade is good, no its great. We need a guy who can put the pick in the net, which leads me to say that gionta is next. Much love and respect for all! Allez Montreal!

canadiens should make an offer to Colorado for Cole and Dietz for orielly. Thing with Cole is if he retires while still under contract his cap hit is off the books right, so maybe dd could also work and use ror as a winger when and if Cole retires? I like Dietz alot but he may be expendable given the girth of defenseman in the farm. Morgan ellis would be preferable but I think Colorado would rather have Dietz. for cap reasons I think Cole makes sense and I'm a huge fan of dd but with our situation at center and the size of our forwards plus dds pending contact status he'd be better served and given the opportunity to flourish in Colorado plus they seem to like our prospects.

Just a couple thoughts... If people think pk is not worth at least 4.75 million you need your head checked. Seriously. If you don't want him signed for 5.5, just wait till you see what he'll do (if your stupid wishes somehow come to fruition) on another team, you'll sorely regret it. He's probably up to 225lbs and skating as fast and hard as ever. I can only imagine how much he'll learn playing with markov.
