- Comment on Habs GM Bergevin "100 per cent" behind Carey Price
I don't understand the DD Gomez comparison. DD gets 3.5 a year, an puts up 10 goals and 18 assists in 48 games. Or is the comparison due to the fact that now that Gomez is making .8 mil a year? We have a good center, when given space on the ice, has proven he can make things happen. This didn't work out so well this year. When cole stopped playing, things changed. Pacioretty has said that DD is the best hockey player he's ever played with. I saw it one tv, and can't supply a link for proof. Anyways, for 3.5 mil, we have a center with positive offensive talents. Seems like a good depth signing to me. But the future is bright. We have plekanec, DD, Eller, and Gally A. Throw in white, and we have are locked up the middle. You want two big centers? Look no further than Eller and Gally A in a couple years. I was so impressed with ellers game this year. Totally different player, and has turned out to be the Ghosts best move while gm. Physical, decent face offs, offensively sound, and deserving of PP time which wasn't given to him. And we all know what Gally A is going to be. Worst case scenario, he puts up the same scoring pace as he did this year, and DD will be good for 50 points a season, and a good trade piece when Gally A is ready for the task of center. He isn't going to go Gomez. He is an undrafted gem. Martin St. Louis was also undrafted and he wasn't a star immediately. He played from the 98-99 season to the 03-04 season before he reached a point per game. 5 years. DD is adjusting, and if he keeps at the rate he's going, we will have our own player like St. Louis. Two actually with Gally B. - Comment on Prust among walking wounded as Habs clear out lockers Saturday
I will be the one to defend DD. last year, no one trashed him. He had a great year. He was also playing well at the beginning of the year. His skill and IQ is undeniable. Things seemed to slip for him since his contract. He is a small gifted player, who needs someone out there making room for him to do his thing, and didn't have much of that this year, like when he had patches and cole last year. I've seen people refer to him as the new Gomez. How soon we forget. Ten goals for DD this year. Add 18 assists to that. 28 points in 48 games. 60 points last year. Really, he wasn't that far off from last year, was he? Next year, he will show that he is worth his contract. If he only puts up 50 points next year, I'd say that's worth 3.5. - Comment on Therrien: 'You've got to give a lot of credit to the Senators' (Video)
Didn't mean to hit enter. It's in a funny place on my phone. But I think the point was made. Too many people are saying its time to get big, and want key players traded. Trading skill for size is not a good idea. Get some size to let our skill perform would be a better idea. Patches is a skill guy. He isn't really a power forward, like Eric Daze. We just need some complimentary size. Trade plekanec is not a smart move right now. He is our best center (for a short time only, but he is still needed. I will wait patiently for all the contracts, like gios, to expire. I like gio. He has a lot of heart, but his career is winding down. The only size I really think we need is another prust type guy up front, but scarier, and a crease clearing d man. But something tells me tinordi will be this guy. He didn't back down from anyone in this series. Not even Neil. - Comment on Therrien: 'You've got to give a lot of credit to the Senators' (Video)
Yes, it's time to get big. Lets blow up the team. Trade for subban for chara, patches for kassian, markov for John Scott, - Comment on Liveblog: Game 5 – Senators end Canadiens season
If there is a positive I can take from this game, its the fact that I shouldn't have to hear anyone say that budaj is a better goalie than price. Not a slam on budaj. I like having him as our backup. He served us well all season. And a good season it has been. I watched the habs play great hockey most of the year, and got to watch some playoff hockey. Three more years, and we wil have a team to be proud of. - Comment on About last night ...

We don't need to get bigger. We need to play bigger. Gally B plays bigger. Can't all the other guys that are bigger than him play like him? Gally A was even playing big last night. He looked as though he was tryin to fill ellers skates. Before the series even started, I didn't think we would make it past the first round. If only the refs werent enduring this to happen. This isn't a knock on the team. I just don't see them as contenders just yet. they made the playoffs, and that is more than i expected out of the year. but they won the division, and almost the conference, if it wasnt for the late season slump. I love the direction the team is headed. Tinordi looks great out there considering he will still be a rookie next year. Lets hope he puts on 20 pounds over the summer, which I'm sure he will. Emelin will be healthy again next year, which means we have two big dmen who I hope are coached to clear prices kitchen. Price shouldn't have to be doing that while trying to track pucks. The swarm system we play works when the players do, but you can't be on all the time. When we aren't having a good game, price gets hung out to dry. It's a team system, where all the players look bad when its not going their way. Price lets in some soft ones, but he isn't as bad as the bad games suggest. Ryder is gone next year, and so is kaberle, opening 8 mil on the cap. We will get another big forward to help prust out. Who knows, maybe MB can land clowe in the off season. I'd over pay for him. With Quebec taxes, the team has to overpay anyways. I wish DD would play like he did before his contract, and I think he will. Just remember, we were third worst in the league last year. We had the fourth best record in the league this year, and this is the first year of the overhaul. Trades will be made. Look for markov to be gone if MB thinks bealieau is ready to come up, which I believe he is. Borque is playing how we all hoped he would. I'd like to say trade gio, but I don't think MB will trade the captain. Besides, I like gio. He takes a lot of guff here, but he always plays hard, and if you are building a character team, you don't trade the captain. I said in a previous post that Eller will be a solid third line center, but I see him being our number one center. I see such promise for the future, and making the playoffs this year is just the start. A good moral boost for a team that couldn't do anything last year. Give this team three more years, and we will have something to be proud of.
