    Just a harmless thought... Would ANYONE be willing to trade Price for Malkin, straight-up? ?I'm curious to see what some here would think about that. It doesn't really look like Malkin is "needed" in Pittsburgh (as absurd a statement that is) and they REALLY need quality goaltending. Habs have shown some of the best defense in the league where it isn't the Carey Price Be-all-and-end-all situation guy we have been conditioned to accept. He hasn't stolen games, etc, you know, you've seen it. The only negative to a deal like this would be the fact we'd load Pittsburgh up for a dynasty.

    "Meanwhile, NHL.com reported on Aug. 27 that Subban has been busy working out and has bulked up to 220 pounds after playing last season with 206 pounds on his 6-foot frame." This kind of troubles me. The last time I did any research on adding weight as part of fitness regime, the thing I will always remember is the fact you cannot gain any more than 12 pounds of muscle per calender year without resorting to unnatural substances. I suppose he may have put on two pounds of fat too, but when you see how shredded these guys can be, it just makes me wonder if it's a little hyperbole. All that weight in a few months? I surely hope he's doing it cleanly. But at the end of the day, I'm no specialist.

    I'd trade Subbans RFA rights to EDM for the #1, draft Galchy with #1, then draft the best available defenseman or one of the remaining Russians at #3. Then, in the prickiest of prick moves, qualify an offer to Subban and get him back. #barnfight
