I have to believe that this is a precursor to another deal. He's not the experienced, right-handed powerplay guy we needed as a 6th Dman and he didn't even play in the playoffs when LA won the cup last year, so experience in that field can't be the reason we acquired him. I think one of our prospect defensemen are going to be dealt within the next 21 hours to shore up our D for a long playoff run. Because in all honesty, I don't see why Drewiske merits a spot anymore than Tinordi, Beaulieu or Pateryn who have all shown solid defensive ability on the blue line. The only change I would make would be to the bottom two forward lines: 3rd line – Eller – Desharnais – Cole 4th line – Moen – White – Prust "When a homeless guy knows his hockey, you know you're in Montreal" - Hal Gill

Is that the criteria for being a Habs defenceman? In fact, I think we'll see an improvement in his physical play this year given that he claims he feels stronger than ever. With Gorges, it's not so much that he doesn't want to go into the corners with a big forward. He does it on a regular basis, but gets overpowered many times. Hopefully, we'll see an improvement in that aspect this season. "When a homeless guy knows his hockey, you know you're in Montreal" - Hal Gill

I really like how Price doesn't just toss the 1st star pucks into the red seats. He really made an effort to get them up to the nosebleeds where the kids aren't too used to expecting souvenirs. It was a nice gesture.

I'd be really interested to see some statistics on how many players who opt for arbitration actually end up staying with that team long term. My guess would be that most bolt after the one or two year arbitration contract...

To be completely honest, my views on the Halak trade have changed following his recent signing. From everything I was reading, it seemed as if he was without a doubt getting at least 4M+ a season. Now that he's signed at 3.75M, I can't help but wonder why we didn't keep him. We currently have 5.6M in cap room. For 3.75M, that leaves a little less than 2M to resign Lapierre. It was easily do-able. The fact that Gauthier never once contacted the Halak camp is even more annoying now. I am neither a Halak or Price maniac. I support both and I currently am 100% behind Carey Price. But I feel we could have the exact same team with a (currently) better goalie in Halak, not to mention a goalie who had the full support of the entire fan base and very little pressure relative to Price going into next season. Gathier and Gainey always struck me as a duo that played it safe. This kind of gamble seems a bit uncharacteristic and unprofessional. Let's hope it works out...

    Step 1: Bend over

Step 2: Place lips on hindquarters

    Step 3: Make puckering sound

You have just successfully kissed ass!

I laughed quite hard. But I think they're mixing up Russian and Slokavian a bit...funny nevertheless!

In that case, do you remember when Huet and Theo were traded then signed to big money contracts? Jaro joins that group. Jaro is the consummate professional and will be a good goalie in the league for years to come. Carey has the potential to be the next face of goaltending! Let's give him a chance to see if he earns it...
