He has been spending his days on Hockey Inside Out, posting insensitively about Price being a sub-par goalie.

I think the only thing that Moen hurt is his pride. He went from some power play time and sometimes moving onto the line with Plecs last year to 4th line duties this year. What I can't understand is our new coach is "easy" to play for, give him effort and he rewards you with time on the ice, yet Moen is showing no motivation to prove his "demotion" is unjust. So he sits more than he plays and is listless when he is on the ice.

Thank you for bringing this additional format to us. I look forward to future episodes. If I may suggest a table or counter in front of you guys, may make you all look a little more comfortable and give you a place to put down the papers. Then of course some shrewd business person will want to put the logo of HIO and those of the sponsors in the forefront... but I digress... Good idea on the format, as I said, I look forward to watching more.

Habs and/or RDS are probably keeping a lid on them so that they can sell them in a nice, all be it expensive, box set after they all air...

I came out of hibernation to comment on this one... Flapper pie... hmmm... But I have not met a pie that I don't like.
  • Comment on NHL makes its latest offer to players public
I think the only flak is from the players on this issue. Media loves it, they will get to really get into it on all their websites / tv shows / printed stories. The fans have got to like it as for once we are not left guessing. The players of course hate it because all of a sudden if they play hardball and come out too strong against the proposal, they become the "greedy ones" in the eyes of the public. This was a masterful PR move from the league. Get the fans on your side (since most fans will just hear the headline of 50/50 split and won't delve any deeper into the proposed agreement). The fans would get a full 82 game season. I think it would also mess with some of the players' heads. Full season of hockey, no loss of salary this year. 50/50 sounds better than the 47 they were offering before. Sure the NHLPA and the players will find some stuff that will need to be changed, but in my opinion they can't now just come out and say "this offer sucks we reject it". Divide and conquer + win the PR battle with fans... the real fun begins now (as do meaningful negotiations hopefully).

I personally think that this is not what Betman had in mind, but that the owners put pressure on him to get a deal done not to lose an entire season. That added to the leaked report that the NHL had a hired a PR guru. It leads me to believe that he sold the owners on the fact that public perception helps sway results. Basically do everything to get the fans on your side, it's a mighty bargaining chip, when fans begin tweeting the players and asking them hard questions... Begin stopping them on the streets / in restaurants and asking about how can you possibly want more than 50/50
