FOR THOSE OF YOU ATTENDING THE SUMMIT THIS WEEKEND !!!!
If anyone's interested this weekend at the Summit I will have a few copies of my latest book, The Greatest Game: The Montreal Canadiens, the Red Army and the Night That Saved Hockey, available for sale on a first-come first-serve basis.
As a special for those attending the book will be available for $20 (a savings of almost a third off the cover price).
Here are some early reviews of the book, which prominently includes our own Mike Boone within the first few pages.

- Comment on Let's get Pat Burns into the Hall of Fame
With all due respect to Pat Burns and his sad plight, I can't help but think that there are other coaches that are more accomplished that aren't in the Hall of Fame.
Clearly, the best coach not enshrined in the Hall is Fred Shero.
He was the first to review video and to incorporate Soviet tactics and training methods into his team. An innovative coach, he was one of the first to implement a system, one of the first to use an assiatant coach. He was also the first winner of the Jack Adams award as coach of the year and was the first to ask his players to live year round in the Philadelphia area so they could participate in off-season training. Not to mention that in 24 years of coaching in the, he went to the finals of his league 14 times, winning 7 times in such diverse leagues as the IHL, the AHL, the CHL, and the NHL.
Of course he also became the first coach to lead an expansion team to the Stanley Cup and then did it twice in a row. Many may have disagreed with some of the Flyers tactics but they did have a profound effect on the history of the sport.

- Comment on Game 67: Canadiens win, but lose Pacioretty
Just finished watching the Sportsnet group and then read Bob McKenzie's latest twitter updates.
The overwhelming sentiment expressed ... clean hit, unfortunate result.
Probably a preview of what we'll hear on HNIC this Saturday.

I remember asking Red Fisher this same question about a year ago. If I remember correctly, when they retired Henri's number, Elmer Lach was at the ceremony but the number retiring was solely Henri's according to Mr. Fisher. Apparently, a similar situation played out a few years previously when Beliveau's number was retired with regards to Aurel Joliat. The number 16 is retired for Henri Richard, although I feel that a new banner sporting the 16 with Elmer Lach's name should also be in the rafters. T.C. tc.denault@habsworld.net
