    Enough of the language debate. When Calgary, Edmonton, The Peg or Toronto hire a coach and GM that can't speak English than we will know that we were wrong. It would never happen in those markets for the same reason we need a Francophone or bi-lingual coach for the habs. And this is coming from an anglo living in Hamilton. In my life the Habs have won 8 Stanley Cups and the Leafs 0. How can you put a value on that?

    What non-Francophone should of been hired. Out of our pool of 5 possible coaches, 2 are now in the NHL. So, the crop wasn't that bad. The reality is that it is all about the players. Was Glen Sather a genius, or did he just have 7 hall of famers on his team. Bowman is a demigod, but never won anything outside of Montreal (stacked team) and Detroit (pretty stacked too). You guys put too much stock in the coach. At least MT has personality. Press conferences will be 100 times more interesting. In my life the Habs have won 8 Stanley Cups and the Leafs 0. How can you put a value on that?

    I'd love to see them put a French only speaking coach in Laugh land. It wouldn't happen because the fans wouldn't allow it. Could you imagine everyday the 20 reporters standing around the Leaf changeroom asking questions and needing a translator. Wouldn't happen. Wouldn't happen in Calgary, Edmonton, the peg or Van either. You don't need a french GM because he doesn't speak to the media everyday.     I'm from Hamilton, Ontario. Couldn't be less French here if you wanted. But, I think the coach should be able to speak French. Yeah, it handcuffs us a bit, but what handcuffs us more is our kneejerk reaction to firing coaches. Last years Stanley cup showed that. If you think the Laughs or the Flames would hire a coach that doesn't speak English, even though he is the best coach, then you are dreaming. Problem is everytime we develop one, Boucher, Muller, they get snapped up. The Canadiens are more than just a hockey team. In my life the Habs have won 8 Stanley Cups and the Leafs 0.
