I believe Tanguay is signed through next year. Probably Streit would have already discussed the possibility of signing an extension with atlanta if this goes through. Btw, have you guys heard Higgins and Koivu's comments? Higgins is chuckling at the possibilities of what will happen without naming names... they played it on the team it's great. I am a trashy knob. nuff said. by the way, wishful thinking would be to say that we will get BOTH Tanguay AND Hossa on a line with Koivu and still keep Higgins. Now that would be SWEET!!! but i'll be the first to say that unless bob is actually the Borg, that won't happen. Is it REALLY that wishful? We're about to find out... Hypothetically, would you trade Higgins for Tanguay? Here's where I think this is going: Ryder and a pick to Calgary for Tanguay (let's Calgary free up cap space and keep immediate scoring prowess) Tanguay and Streit to Atlanta for Hossa - Atlanta gets two strong players that they can keep for one elite player that they can't keep. We get 5 time all-star, 192 points over the last two seasons, point-plus-per-game, still in his prime for years, make opposing D crap their pants when holding the puck Hossssssssssa. Nuff said. :) I'd say we do pretty damn well in that trade - assuming we keep Hossa which I have no doubt is the only way Gainey would pull the trigger on that.
