So if I was coach this would be my line-up tomorrow: Patch-DD-Gally AG-TP-PA Bourni-LE-Dale Moen-Manny-Cakes. Oh and Nate in for Mike. I would place a premium on speed tomorrow, rather than left wing locks, pace over pride. I am not the coach, so I make lineups on my i-pad. Admission, I skim thru comments prior to posting my own, always. 1) I am newer here 2) I like to check the vibe prior, And I try to understand why some of the brethren are hell - bent on re-hashing & re-branding their opinions on certain habs players. (I have been guilty of dogging a few players in the past, namely Gio, Josh, DD and Patches.) I have come around on DD given his effort level in the post-season last year. & Max seems like he is starting be humbler with responsibility and the awareness of his gleener path to his status. ( he has flat out wheels ) a Eric Cole skate-alike. Though he has worked on his edges... My thing: Lars, gets a bum rap. Look at the 5 last goals he has been on the ice for, he has zero fault for them 0. Please look. Btw I think analytics like Corsi are superficial(given that SOG is as useless a stat as short samples of +\-); but it does offer zone starts, which Lars continues to get the martyr share. Just a Lars rant. His work ethic is beyond reproach, his speed is devine, his puck getting skills are excellent. He needs a play maker on one wing and an alike puck getter on the other. ( we will become much less frustrated with chances lost) More Swedes for the Lions in Winter

I appreciate the temperance of the writers here today. It is early, and this year will be a journey, one part boldness of forcing a new pace, one part awkwardness of youth proving they belong, another part moving forward, etc. I think this is the most difficult year of the last three, it always gets tougher to forge forward. So rather than profess to know what is needed, I will rather offer some of my hopes that should emerge by game 20. 1. Team toughness in form. Meaning taking no Shiite in scrums, skate away when prudent, punctuated by fighting the good fight. Not picking shots but fighting when you deserve to win. Beaulieu, Tinordi, Weise, Bourque, Prust, Weaver, +\- 15 fights as a group in the next 15 games. ( have Prust teach Eller how to grapple). 2. Plekanec, ice-time under 18 minutes per game =.8 pts/game (healthy Eller and Manny) will make this probable. 3. A play making winger for Eller and Bourque. 4.20 games for PK, 20 games for Marky, 18 games for Gilbert, 12 games for Emmy, 15 games for the Weave. 17 games for Tinner, 18 for Nate. 5. Good health and rest for the group. This team will benefit from proper stress. 6. Emergence of Sekac with 10 points. 7. Patch clicking, DD creating. 8. Continued emergence of AG 9. CP & PK settling into form and vision. 10. A PP at 22%, a PK at 86% and 5 on 5 play at plus 10. More Swedes for the Lions in Winter

Temperance is important now. We at worst start the season 3-1 on the road, while A) working the bugs out of our new system, B) have little special team prowess & C) our big 3 is not at their most positively impactful.....nice to see some push-back in the third though.
