Nilan returns as HI/O Show guest

Chris Nilan returns as the special guest on this week’s HI/O Show, joining Gazette columnist Dave Stubbs and sports editor/host Stu Cowan.

Among the topics discussed are the tough love that seems to be working for Canadiens coach Michel Therrien, the resurgence of David Desharnais, whether Max Pacioretty could be traded, and Douglas Murray’s recent scrap with Buffalo Sabres tough-guy John Scott  – was the Habs defenceman brave or stupid? Nilan, who was never afraid to drop the gloves during his career with the Canadiens, offers some tips on how to fight the 6-foot-8, 259-pound Sabres giant.

Nilan also tells the story about the day he stole (or should we say borrowed?) the Stanley Cup with former Habs teammate Lucien DeBlois after they won it in 1986.

Nilan could take over for cherry tomorrow. Great insight. tells it like it is, a great sense of humor. Also unlike Cherry, Chris actually played in the nhl.
Another great show with knuckles. Stubbs has some good comments. However when Nilan is the guest stubbs should keep his long winded storys to a minimum.

  2. JM says:

Knuckles should be taking Don Cheerys place on HNIC. Everything he says is right on. Good job Chris …plus some of these Guys need the knuckles put to them ie PK Stock.

  3. HABZ24 says:

  5. Habimus-Maximus says:

Another great show guys, nothing beats real stories from the old days. Also, Nilan gives real insight from an ex player, unlike PJ Stock and Healy from CBC…..Pretty nice to have Subban-Markov-Emelin back there on the blueline for years to come. (Obviously expecting the Habs to sign them for more years)

    Go Habs Go

  6. Marc10 says:

Ah Knuckles! The gold standard of the HIO Show.
We’ll done. Entertaining anecdotes and no holds barred opinions.
