What can the Canadiens do to get Rene Bourque to produce more?
That’s one of the topics discussed on this week’s HI/O Show on The Gazette’s hockeyinsideout.com website as former Hab Chris (Knuckles) Nilan joins columnist Dave Stubbs and sports editor/host Stu Cowan.
Nilan recalls a little motivational talk gave to a group of rookies on the Canadiens’ 1986 Stanley Cup-winning team and offers some advice for Bourque and coach Michel Therrien.
There is also a discussion about whether the reaction to Therrien benching P.K. Subban last week in Philadelphia was overblown, and Nilan recalls the time former Habs coach Jacques Lemaire made him a healthy scratch and how he reacted.
Stubbs offers some advice for GM Marc Bergevin on what type of contract he might offer defenceman Andrei Markov, who becomes a free agent after this season, and on his Knuckles Knockout segment Nilan gives his take on disallowed goals in the NHL, like Brendan Gallagher’s Tuesday night in the Habs’ 4-1 loss to the New Jersey Devils.
