It wasn’t as dramatic as Derek Jeter singling home the winning run in his last at-bat in Yankee Stadium.
But as New York was saying goodbye to a latter-day legend, the Bell Centre hailed a new OT hero.
The Canadiens managed to fritter away huge opportunities with the man advantage in Overtime before Alex Galchenyuk beat two Colorado defenders and popped the winner on a wrister past Reto Berra.
