Defenceman James Wisniewski and forward Benoit Pouliot missed the morning skate in Brossard this morning because they displayed flu-like symptoms. Both players are officially classified as game-time decisions,

Yeah I read an article in the New England Journal of Medicine on how elite athlete’s, left handed children, the elderly born in the month of May and people with brown eyes and a 9.5 shoe size have weakened immune systems. Something to do with global warming and the price of tea in China…

There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…

  2. joeybarrie says:

Telling the opposing team exactly what is happening and how we are going to play tonight seems more idiotic to me. I have a feeling that this team likes it’s secrecy, I don’t think they try too hard to give away info so the other team can prepare…

There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…

  3. Kooch7800 says:

two sets of back to backs and the flu going through.  Not good.  Good luck boys

  4. Muckbringer says:

one thing i have to say about jm.  he does care.  and every time he doesnt say anything with these shyte  calls, he must be putting another penny in the snap jar.

  5. shiram says:

It might already be decided, and its just kept secret from the press.

  6. Josh says:

Having them game-time decisions sounds completely idiotic. Why further increase the chances of a full-on outbreak of the flu?

  7. KenD29 says:

Come on Dave, are you not a gamer?! Echanacia washed down with a shot of Jack’s, you will be fine!

Tonight we skate with them, Tonight is our night!

  8. jennifer1984 says:

yes…….! could you imagine the looks on people’s faces if someone walked in there like that!

  9. DearyLeary says:

The bigger issue is that elite athletes tend to have weaker immune systems.

  10. punkster says:

Too logical JB and too fact-based. Try and be a bit more schizo when commenting please and make liberal use of the words “NHL conspiracy” and “ruining young players”.

    Example:

The NHL is to blame for all this flu and JM ruins young palyers by letting the sick ones hang around the healthy.

See, simple, effective and slams the coach all in one short sentence.

  11. Muckbringer says:

if you were a betting man would you bet that a hab or someone who abuses their body, wears a spring jacket when on the road,  and takes a packed bus to and from work would get sick first in a season?

  12. Psycho29 says:

I think if you have high levels of alcohol in your system it will kill any germs. :-)

  13. joeybarrie says:

I love how people think that taking a few vitamins will prevent germs from infecting the body. Of course you simply need to use anti bacteria and you wont get sick…. Except its a virus and not caused by bacteria, so alcohol based anti bacteria soaps and sanitizers are useless against the Cold and the Flu. I put AIRBORNE, Vitamin D, and the like in the same category as watching the TV too close will ruin your eyesight, make that face too long and your face will freeze that way, wearing a hat will lead to baldness and going outside in the cold without your coat and you will get sick…

Good luck keeping sickness out of locker rooms and out of a sport where bodily fluids are all over the place. I mean how in the world did we spend 60 million+ on salary and didn’t think of giving them a few vitamins to prevent sickness…I mean what the heck to Doctors and Scientists know anyways???

The best part is simply keeping the sick AWAY from the players…. Even though the symptoms only show 3-5 days after the initial infection. So the only way to prevent it is to actually go back in time and stop yourself 3-5 days BEFORE you get sick…

There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…

  14. Muckbringer says:

yet another reason to stop showering together!

  15. Muckbringer says:

i was just thinking about this and my thought was about the interaction with the press and fans but never thought about it that way.  good point.  like the marathon runner who gets cancer at 40 from second hand smoke.

Gucci often stays off to the side of the fast moving trends. You might not immediately come to this conclusionthe name Gucci handbags won`t take long to arise in anyone`s list of the top luxury designersbut if you follow the shows, the buzz, the ads, the celebrity stocking, the madness that surrounds anything Marc Jacobs, leather handbags, Chanel or Louis Vuitton do, you`ll notice that Gucci operates noticeably more quietly. And if you`ve noticed a lack of news from me lately about Gucci,Replica Watches, you`ll know that I too am guilty of buzzing where buzz is from time to time, and forgetting to vocalize my constant amazement at the class of the Gucci house. Guilty as charged!

Vitamin D-3. Why is this sickness thing allowed to linger.

    Vitamin D-3.

    Vitamin D-3.

In related news, Habs Inside/Out will have no postgame video from the Canadiens dressing room tonight. If you think we’re setting foot in that germ factory, you’re dreaming.

  22. Rugger says:

Guess we know who Cammy pals around with.

  23. smiler2729 says:

Don’t these guys get flu shots (not that they work and this might be proof that they don’t but I digress)? And if they don’t, don’t they have personal towels and water bottles? And why is it always the Habs that get a mass flu bug that goes through the whole team?

  24. soperman says:

Yes, flu shots work.  My whole freaking family gets them and we haven’t had the flu in years.  Before we started getting them every freaking year it ran through the house like, well you know.  It baffles me why this is an issue every year.

  25. soperman says:

    sorry – doublepost

  26. shiram says:

Those shots only prevent last year’s flu, so if the flu mutates you are not protected.

And as far as we know they whole Habs organization could have gotten the flu shots.

  27. joeybarrie says:

Can we even field (ice???) a team????

There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…

  28. habs365 says:

I guess Pyatt and Picard will have to do their thing..we should be able to handle Calgary

  29. psyko514 says:

Gah.  I’m going to tonight’s game.  I’ll be kinda bummed if I don’t get to see The Wiz.

  30. arcosenate says:

That’s great, two of the best players over the past two weeks.

    That helps.

  31. SensFanSpezza says:

I guess Pyatt and Picard have been into the voodoo again.

  32. SeriousFan09 says:

What the hell is sweeping around this team?

    - I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.

  33. Brown_Hab_Fan says:

Didn’t we learn our lesson like 4 years ago when this ffffin flu plagued our team?? Maybe our Rtard of a coach JM, should learn from the past and immediatly make players take responsibility for their health and not to endanged the rest of their teammates. If you’re sick stay AWAY until your a 100%, if you’re not a 100% your more of a liability than being a help.

  34. joeybarrie says:

Well since most of those guys including JM werent here 4 years ago I guess they didnt get the MEMO…

I mean why didn’t our ‘Rtard’ of a coach just give them Airborne…. I mean is just so easy. HOW IN THE WORLD DIDNT THEY GET THAT???

There may be other teams, but only ONE Club De Hockey…

  35. Habnofear says:

And stop hurking on the Ice….Just watch Max -Pac on the bench, that’s all he does, lol

  36. punkster says:

Just wondering. Do you realize that the use of the r-word when referring to someone is childish, uneducated, boorish, insulting, contemptuous and makes your comment and hence your opinion pretty well useless?

    ***Subbang!!!***

  37. Psycho29 says:

How about showing a little more class in your posts….

  38. Malreg says:

The flu is mostly contagious BEFORE you start to show any signs of symptoms, fyi.

  39. dallyd31 says:

Do you have a clue ?  On top the that, using the “r” word…come on.

  40. jennifer1984 says:

maybe they’re doing exactly as you suggest, they’re staying away because they feel like they’re GETTING sick.

ever think of it that way?

  41. Muckbringer says:

dont worry.  we know you meant it in the use of “abnormal” just dont call anyone a wanker.  well all be screwed.

  42. olematelot says:

It has nothing to do with last years flu. The shot you get is based on what the medical experts determine to be the strain circulating this year

  43. olematelot says:

Agree, I”ve been getting the shot for years and have never been sick with so much as even a cold

  44. Bill H says:

I thought the r-word was like the n-word.  Its okay to use it if you are included in that group?
