Has anyone else noticed that if the Habs don’t score in the first at home, they get shutout more times than not?
They have been shut out 3 times at home all season, including tonight. So all it would take for this to be wrong is the Habs not scoring in the first 4 times.
I would love to see the stats. One of the only games I’ve seen them win after not scoring in the first period was the big comeback against Boston. They need the crowd behind them, and the crowd grows restless after not scoring in the first and the Habs lose their energy because they feed off the crowd. Start paying attention to the atmosphere in the arena compared to the players energy, it’s actually pretty wild
It was a game that they got a deflection in and we didn’t. Everyone should of known that Buffalo and especially Miller would have a good game after blowing a late lead against Nashville their last outing.
I know I’ll get a lot of thumbs down for this one, but Gomer played a good game, would of been nice if someone could of potted one of his many good setups tonight.
Many good setups? Ill give him the one on Wisniewski at the end, but as far as Im concerned, throwing the puck blindly out in front of the net does not count as a good setup.
If his setups were so good then theres no way DD would have been on in the last minute instead of him.

I knew I’d see this tonight. What, he made one pass that lead to a shot and tried to score from behind the goal line and the puck stopped in the crease, means a good game? This guy has the worst nose for the net, he skates towards open ice and people think he’s a phenomenal skater. I don’t get it.
Gomez was a large part of our few PP opportunities being ineffective
enqvist played about 5 min but looked dead tired..no jump…gomez played over 21 minutes…this is the type of game that shows that we still have too many forwards that are not goal scorers..
Gomez playing over 21 minutes is probably the majority of issues. He takes up too much time that other centers can take and probably get some energy on the ice and consequently gain some momentum. Gomez has no idea, it seems these days, what to do with the puck once he gets in the offensive zone.

They’re not going to pound snot or anything else Thursday. Too many injuries and too many MIAs to risk anything as brain-dead as a slug fest. Win…that’s the objective and that’s the only revenge they need right now. The next bit of revenge comes when we knock them out of the playoffs.

Its just so damn frustrating to have this happen to them. The top teams should be winning these games. Habs had nothing tonight…how do you explain it.? They knew what they could have accomplished with a victory of their own coupled by a Bruins loss.

Are you referring the Habs as a top team? The might be with everyone in the lineup but with 9 players out you can’t seriously call them a top team. They have a top goalie, a top rookie D and that’s about it.
Message to Gomez and Cammy watch the film on Crosby watch how hard he working on handling the puck so he can make a GD PASS. 12 million between the two of them and niether can pass better than a peewee player.
That’s crap. Whatever Gomez’s problems might be his passing isn’t part of it. He laid on at least half a dozen beauties — goals on a plate — tonight alone.
Yeah, for some reason no-one can cash in his passes. Just Plekanec’s or Desharnais’s? What?

I get the point, but how is he to blame for the excellent work setting up (just to name two tonight) Wiz & Gionta? Those two alone were gold — credit where credit is due, no?
Fair enough, he’s had bad luck too, but it can’t just be luck in this long a season. Something is amiss.

I don’t know what your smoking Gomez threw wild passes out all night and couldn’t make apass up ice. Cammy was worst and as a so called small skill team passing has to be the tops. This has been going on since JM has been coach he needs to take yhem out and make them pass till they drop.
I see some ppl blaming AK46 on that play at the end of the game, but if you watch the puck was bouncing and those pucks are extremely hard to handle. It was his intention to shoot it right back in, but he could not settle it down, it happens.
Overall it was not a bad game, but not a great game. We did not have enough traffic in front of Miller and he saw everything.
On to Boston. Please let us get some players back, this is absolutely ridicoulous our injuries right now.

C;mon LL you really think Darche and Halpen is going to produce victories? If by future you’re talking next year I agree but don’t expect Max to be back at all this year. Pleks make a big difference for sure but seriously this team still lacks that certain je ne sais quoi that will bring them over the top and turn them into a true contender
Darche and Halpern have scored timely goals and are unafraid to hang around the opponents’ net. Every bit helps when you have no superstar offense. Pleks is a difference maker. I hope Max doesn’t come back this year as the experts say concussion sufferers need to stay away for at least 6 months “if” they are symptom free or it should go to 1 year if symptomatic.
But yes our veterans aren’t cutting it. All our team needed tonight was 1 bloody goal. But considering, they are doing well overall.

cheer up guys. the sabres were probably super bummed for blowing a 3-1 lead with 3 minutes left against nashville last game, and give up the extra point in OT. you had to expect some urgency in their game. they never gave up on plays. played such frustrating hockey, broke up passes, clogged the neutral zone, contained us.

How is that not a pentlty he stuck his stick between Subbans legs and trips him. He makes calls against the Habs and nothing against Buffalo. This goes on and on and on the NHL is just the WWF where the refs help decide the winner. Hey JM this is when you should have thrown sticks on the ice. Torarella would have gone nuts and you know what, check the Rangers record. No way they have played 71 games and only have 19 games where they have more PP than the other team. Why JM has them open the first 40 defensively is beyond me … it just sets up too much pressure and obviously Carey can’t stop everything.
