  1. 24 Cups says:

I appreciate the offensive help but I’ll wait until the end of th year to pass judgement on his defensive play.  The Wiz really has made some bad plays in his own end the past few games.  I’d pair him up with Hamrlik to see how that goes.  They could become our #1 pairing with Gill and Subban as the 2nd combo.

  2. 24moreCups says:

I always liked SK for some reason, too bad it just couldn’t work out with our team and city.

  3. NoTinFoilCups says:

Actually he’s RFA which gives him more value than if he was UFA. #3 is not happening since we are not doing badly enough to have the coach fired at this point. It’s just wishful thinking.

I wouldn’t be surprised if his name is being thrown out there by PG now. If he’s not gone before the deadline then it’ll be sometime during the summer.

Like his brother I think he could flourish someplace else under a different system. Good riddance and good luck.

  4. sholi2000.com says:

No, a true just knows how to put on paper without looking like a complete and incompetent idiot!

You have no idea how to present yourself to a large number of people.  I suggest when you leave high school, that you take some leadership courses, and maybe public speaking, that would help you out with being accepted in life.

Until then, you will always be looked down upon.

What good is an opinion if no one listens?

    They Call Me Shane

  5. JD_ says:

Durin’ one game against Pittsburgh in last year’s playoffs, PK clocked almost 30 minutes of TOI.

He was a + player durin’ his 14-game run.

  6. avatar_58 says:

Have you met the habs? They’ll lose him for some player who won’t see more than the bulldogs

  7. avatar_58 says:

He’s like MAB only with far more defensive skills and is young enough to adjust his game.

  8. avatar_58 says:

In essence he’s the shot they’ve been missing, that they expected to get from guys like Weber and PK. I suggest they keep him, because he could teach the two of them not to wind up so much and just snap it.

  9. NoTinFoilCups says:

Nice to see his poise with the puck. It’s hard to teach that. I’ll put up with his occasional brain fart. He is creative on offense. Lord knows we need a little more of that! I think we’ll be okay on D if we can stay healthy. PK and Wiz need to eat minutes to keep the old guys fresh.

  10. thehabsfan29 says:

    2. i dont see AK46  having a future with the habs. id rather deal him and hopefully get something decent in return for him.

  11. ed lopaz says:

The writing was on the wall more than 1 year ago.

I suggested that we dump him and USE HIS 3 million in CAP SPACE last season.

We were right up against the Cap, and shaving 100’s of thousands against a 59 million budget.

Many here, not saying you, were arguing that AK minus SK would be a different AK.

We tried it. It did not work.

AK WILLDO WELL – but not playing for a coach like Martin.

He needs a different coach – less demanding, more encouraging, and more positive re-enforcement.

  12. NoTinFoilCups says:

Yeah it’s kind of strange. If it is in fact the case then I hope he left the building toute suite and and stays clear of the rest of the team. That’s the last thing we need now is a rampaging flu bug.

  13. sholi2000.com says:

    Fun read, Applause!

    They Call Me Shane

  14. ed lopaz says:

now that Markov AND Gorges are down, the injuries become a legit excuse for any losing we might do going forward.

therefore, martin will NOT be fired this season, no matter what happens.

Gauthier was instrumental in bringing Martin on board.

I can not stand Martin or Gauthier.

But I have accepted, since the Gorges injury, that they are both here to stay.

  15. AH says:

The Wiz is going to be a key player for us, and we better figure out a way to sign him. His effort on the tying goal was pure hockey sense and skill; winds up for the slapper, lays off it and slides over to a clear shooting lane around a sprawling defenceman and puts a low controlled shot on net on the side he sees Gionta coming in from. That goal was all him, well done!

With Markov out, we need that kind of offensive sense from the back end.

  16. ed lopaz says:

Subban played OVER 25 minutes against Edmonton the game before he was benched for 3 straight.

He was also a + player before he was benched.

  17. B says:

80.3 Disallowed Goal – When an attacking player causes the puck to enter the opponent’s goal by contacting the puck above the height of the crossbar, either directly or deflected off any player or official, the goal shall not be allowed. The determining factor is where the puck makes contact with the stick. If the puck makes contact with the stick below the level of the crossbar and enters the goal, this goal shall be allowed.

A goal scored as a result of a defending player striking the puck with his stick carried above the height of the crossbar of the goal frame into his own goal shall be allowed.

  18. SmartDog says:

I’m tired of losing players with good skills to coaches who know how to motivate and inspire.

Equally tired of all the ‘sour grapes’ posters who crap on SK, Grabs, Lats, and other guys we traded away to please an uninspiring coach.  If I’m a GM I WANT to trade for Gauthier’s under-performers.  That’s not a good reputation to have.

  19. WestHab says:

Very shady indeed. Somehow when an injustice happens wierd things happen later that compensate. Funny how things took place.

  20. mike g says:

Hes an RFA, not a UFA.. But its alright, i know what u meant…. Anyways, i choose option 2. Im fed up of seeing him grab his ass out there. Actually, hes so lazy to do anything, that hes hardly even grabbing his ass anymore, it requires too much effort. And that lack of comittment shows what kind of self respect he has for himself as a human and as a pro athelete. There is a such thing of not playing for a certain coach, but then theres also the way a real pro will always have pride for himself and his career. And when most of the team still plays for this coach, AK himself looks like the dummy. And im sure there are other guys who dont like JM. Im sure Benny isnt too keen about being on the 3rd line, but he still gives his effort when needed, and although he isnt the most devoted player, he still cares about his career and how the team does. Did u see how happy he was last night, and how he played vs the Pens? Thats 2 big games vs 2 big teams. And 2 times where AK was a big flop… Dump him, or just dont dress him. He makes a guy like Pleks have to work doubble, which is unfair because hes our most honest and hardest worker

I got AK at under 64.5 pts, with Triple X and Tom Nickle.

  21. JohnBellyful says:

Great idea! Sweaters customized for the opposition a team faces. Jersey sales will go through the roof. HIO contributors, I’m sure, will be able to offer a few suggestions.

  22. WestHab says:

If trading him before the deadline gets us a reliable d go for it.

    – Who will be at the Heritage Classic?

  23. Matt_in_TO says:

I say trade him but the problem is what can we get in return?  Not much I would imagine but it would at least be more than letting him walk this summer.  I wonder if Nashville would take him.  He’s got the potential to be a dominate player but he’s worse than Kovalev at times with is disappearing act.
