That would get rid of a great number of problem members.

Your survey misses a couple of questions:

… I tried guys, but gave up.
Your survey is going to skew for people who have lots of time, and who like filling out surveys. Which means you’re missing most of us.
The proper way to do this is either to split your survey into pieces and then aggregate the result, or use a shorter survey and then send people a follow up longer survey later with some potential reward or just a lot of thanks. Studies show that the ‘foot in the door technique’ is powerful when it comes to surveys. A study I read showed that people are up to 12 times more likely to agree to a bigger commitment having made a smaller one.
So let me know when youv’e posted that smaller suvey and I’ll be happy to fill it out.

Honeslty not sure why I am going to post this link – I guess because he touched so many peoples lives and had a positive impact on thousands. Also Gionta is mentioned in the article.
I had the pleasure to skate with him once, was proud of myself for shutting him down on “most” occasions. It was just a pick-up game and he jumped onto the ice, he thanked us for letting him join us when it was the rest of the guys who wanted to thank him.

I don’t think I’m in the majority, but I would like links to interesting stories on other teams or junior, AHL. Not little mundane articles, but news worthy items. Higher Nightmare49 (think that’s his name) to scan the web for them. He knows how to pick the interesting news from the ordinary. If he had a feature everyday of links, I, and I’m sure others, would really enjoy it. Some times the same old Habs news gets boring ie. Who should we put with Gio and Gomez. Going on for more than a year, Lapierre, D’Ags, Lats, Patches, Eller, Moen, Pyatt, Metro, Cammy, Sk74, Pouliot. I think there are alot more interesting hockey topics than that hopeless question. I think it would do a lot of posters some good to broaden their view of the game and it’s players. Some tend to get too caught up in the “Habs bubble” and lose perspective. Just my opinion.
I for one would LOVE a notification system that tells you that someone responded to you…

I agree with the notification and ignore option, but think the +/- is juvenile. All it does is perpetuate division and doesn’t encourage differing opinions, which is what this site should be about.

Yup that would be a sweet addition. Would like to see polls on the front page aswell, being able to see which users voted what, and open for discussion
For a Habs Fan living in New York (Long Island), HIO is efin awesome. I would be lost without it. Thanks for letting me take the survey. My only issue is the sometimes slow server. Other than that, hanging with other habs fans is great

It propagates bias as well, knowing who is who..all too familiar on this site. It wouldn’t be accountability as much as about favouritism.

well i for one couldnt care less how people voted on the things i say so i guess you do raise a point how it can make those with insecurities feel abit butthurt
i added that as a comment in the survey – a simple “like” count by person can be effective – eventually giving credence to those who at least think through their posts – but i’ve seen it abused as well

Wow, that was a very long survey… and I didn’t get to say this: the site should not redirect to mobile homepage when accessed on a mobile device. A simple layout change of the same URL.
I access HIO through the rss free, sometimes using my smartphone. I cannot follow links to this website because I lose the page being redirected to HOME. Instead of trying to find the page I already had, I just switch to sth else, hoping this gets fixed soon!
Also, this one of the very few websites with a worthy comments section: great community
I couldn’t get this written in the survey, but It would be really cool to get a link to rival game blogs (or forums) for the upcoming game so we can snoop around the other side’s comments.
