No, the year is only 19 days old.
This is the video of this year and last year and the year before.
It may be the video of the century.
Arguably, Best. Video. Ever.
Pushes Thriller into second-place.
A work of cinematic genius to rival Citizen Kane.
And thanks to Stu Hackel for finding it.

hmmm seems every post i made this morning disappeared??
This made by day, my week, my month (since Habs Ws are hard to come by). I’m a Jon Stewart super fan so there couldn’t have been a better background to edit this against. But yeah, even with that much, there is lots of bruins bs to include. Maybe a part two?

The Drive for 25
A few things missing in this vid:
-Marchand’s unpunished slew foot (supposed to be an automatic match penalty) on Niskanen this year
-Ference’s elbow on Hapern in the playoffs last year
-Jeremy Jacobs, the Bruins’ owner and head of the NHL board of governors was instrumental in getting Bettman a five year extension. Conflict of interest much? Not to mention Colin Campbell and his boy Gregory…
Shamaham finally gave out a real suspension to Marchand because people are starting to realize how corrupt the NHL is.

Good riddance Cammy, you gutless prima donna smurf.
JUST A “FYI”
I live in the RED DEER area and there are more Flames fans here than maggots in a waste disposal site (No slight intended. Just sayin’). Having said that Flames are irate that they lost a big forward who plays with an edge that cost half a cammy. As for the criticism that he doesn’t show up every game? Consider this; Bourque shows up half the time and averages 27 goals a year while Cammy ‘always’ shows up and nets…..???
We’ll see how it pans out. If Bourque nets 27 a year for habs (and he may not) the jury won’t be out long on this one.
Ill compare this, if Price gets his way with this next contract, he will cause further descension, in this team, even beyond the likes of a Gomez, or Camalleri, or Kaberle.
Halak, wouldnt of. Halak, would of been better, for a team. Not a bunch of individuals, which is exactly what the f in problem is in Montreal, and surely will continue to be if not worsen. If Price gets a contract of a lifetime.
It should be about team.
Period…
Halak, Price, c’mon, man, enough…
Thomas, Plasse, Larocque, we shoulda paid Dryden (HI/O in ’73)
Who starts Penney or this new Roy guy? (HI/O in ’86)
Hayward deserves to start over Roy (HI/O ’88)
Does it really matter now?

Seriously?????
Brilliant video. Love to see that
I don’t particularly like either team. Compare the time difference between the puck leaving Horton’s stick and the puck leaving Miller’s stick when hit by Lucic. Add into the equation that a goaltender would be less expectant of getting hit. Now, compare the discipline doled out. The Canucks were penalized because Sedin spoke out regarding the vindication of Chara on the Max Pacioretty hit. As soon as he and others questioned the NHL head office you knew there would be retribution. You have the audacity to question us, their immature “we’ll show you mentality” was flagrantly exhibited.
Now, would you prefer a league of class acts like the Sedins’ or a league full of Marchands’ and Lucics’?
It appears that first rate teams are going to have an increasingly difficult time succeeding in a third rate league.
Please go ahead and do the comparison. Report back to us. I bet the Lucic hit came significantly later than the Aaron Rome hit.

Love the video. Great weapon for me to bash all these Bruins loser fans among who I live.
Mediocre teams work at their best; teams seeking excellence strive to do better.
it’s sad that some are still comparing price and halak….
———-
hip-check!
It’s stupid.
It’s been pointed here and elsewhere by those that really seem to know a thing or two about the game (and that’s most of us here) that Halak’s sudden “rejuvenation” in St. Louis is the product of Ken Hitchcock’s defensive strategies.
Under The Big K’s system, Pascal freakin’ Leclaire led the league in Shutouts a couple of seasons back and Steve Sieve Mason won the Calder…
Halak is also benefitting from the 1 and 1a goalie tandem being used cuz as it has also been said and we’ve seen it first hand in the ’10 playoffs, Jaro’s stamina is not the best.
Let the morons cry about the move, we all know it was the right one.

I had to register today after reading this. I have stayed out of this debate for years, although I had my opinion. I have some experience playing goalie.
Halak may be benefitting from a new system..but what helped him here? And even with the best system – has ANY goalie had these kind of numbers? 2012: 6-0. .970 save Pct. 3 shutouts. Not really. Not even Mr. Brodeur with the best defense in the league. Halak was playing with undisclosed injury first half. His hand was not fully healed.
Stamina? Halak worked like a dog (maybe too hard) off-season to improve stamina. This has changed.
So rather than name calling. The Price over Halak is definately not clear-cut. Halak’s career is going to be better than any Price fans will have ever thought. And, all things being equal…he has a very strong chance to win the Cup this year. And if he does, other cups may come as well.
I won’t comment on this debate again. But if you take a step back and think about how hard Halak is working (as well as Price) on his game…there is little chance that Price’s career numbers will finish significantly ahead of Halak’s.
There will always be explanations for that everywhere, but does Martin Brodeur care?
Of course, this is based on my experience as a goalie and studying goaltending – Not tracking goalie careers. So if you ask my opinion, I just think we could have gotten more for Price in a trade. The level of goaltending would have remained unchanged. We’ll see.
Have fun watching this unfold.
(No need to respond..I won’t post again. I’d rather browse)
– 1 more thing. My favorite goalie (not the team), Tim Thomas, was a cast-away too. His career was supposed to go nowhere. I think he’s done ok.
Isn’t it though??
And with the same tired views too.
As for the video, maybe someone should show Jon the other blown calls in that cup run the NHL ignored.
Hit from behind on Spacek (Lucic) nothing done
head shot in the corner on Halpern (Ferrence) nothing done
Spraying fan with water and throwing bottle at them (Horton) nothing done
Late hit on Raymond (broken discs in his back I think) a full 2+ seconds after moving the puck. all this after the “late” hit (1 second) on Horton worthy of the longest suspension in NHL history (finals)
These plus the ones Jon highlights are all suspension worthy during the cup run and yet….nadda
So sad
Ask a Bruin fan, they have no idea what you are talking about…ya right?!

I really don’t see how a concussion would limit you from seeing a movie ? That is just so stupid…i would think someone who may think their career may be over would want to do something to get his mind of his problems for a while. It’s not like he was paralyzed or something sheesh…my god big deal he had a concussion and went to a movie to free his mind a bit..god forbid !!! What if …
I know everyone wants Gauthier fired but is it possible that he’s actually the competent member of our upper management? This assumes of course that he was not responsible for the Gomez trade.
But objectively he inherited from Gainey a team with huge cap commitments. He could only make a few tweaks here and there. Most of his decisions since then have been either good ones or neutral. (Fave commentariat comments after the asterix)
1. Firing Martin. He realized that Martin was antagonizing players, and contributing to a poor atmosphere. Had no choice but to fire him and correctly decided to give the job to Cunneyworth rather than conduct an extensive search. See what Cunny can do, and decide the future this summer. Correct move, and he can’t really be blamed for the language furor which in any case was a tempest in a teapot. (* “he fired him before the morning skate”)
2. Erik Cole. Despite everyone criticizing the deal when it happened (* ” he can only play in Carolina”).
3. Ryan O’Byrne for Bournival. O’Byrne remains the number 6 D on one of the worst defensive teams in the league.
4. Halak for Eller. A gutsy move and – pace Manapart and Mike Milbury – a good one. Everyone thought he had messed up but he picked the right keeper, and he picked up a good hockey player. Remember he couldn’t take back a big salary. (* too many to mention).
5. Kaberle. A minor move at best. His cap hit is not that great. He helps out. Gave up nothing to get him. (Spacek is the #6 D-man on the worst defensive team in the league.)
6. Gorges. Played that one exactly right. (*after giving him the one year deal : “It’s an insult, Gorges will never sign for us now.”)
7. Markov. Tough one. He had very little choice. It turned out bad but is it anyone’s fault? I doubt very much that the doctors told him Markov wouldn’t play in 2011-2012.
8. Cammalleri. No choice. May well have robbed the Flames blind. Time will tell. (* “They traded him during the game!)
9. Tinordi. Moving up to draft him was unquestionably a good move. Now ranked as #6 of his draft year. Taken with the 29th pick!
of course, if all the individual decisions were sound, why are we in on the lottery?
–
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
I really like your posts and almost always agree with you, but your resistance to seeing the Kaberle trade for what it is baffles me. It is a horrible trade. You throw Spacek under the bus for being the 6th D on the worst defensive team in the NHL. Hello? Kaberle is the PP quarterback for the worst PP team in the NHL, gets about 9 minutes of even strength time per game, and could easily be 7th/8th D on the 25th worst team in the NHL. Tack on the fact that he’s got a 4ish mil cap it for 2 more seasons, and this was a horrendous trade.
I am generally OK with PG but the Kaberle trade was foolish.
I was OK with The Goat until Kaberle. I’m sorry but this guy is useless. Completely useless. His previous GM goes on record as saying.. thank Allah I managed to dump him and his salary .. and we are supposed to be impressed. I don’t think so.
Gauthier has not done as bad as some make it, but the Kaberle deal might be his worst move.
On a solid d-core, he would not be too much of an issue, on the Habs fragile and young D, he is a weakness.
Still he is putting up some point, and that’s mainly why he was brought here.
It’s not so much the moves themselves but rather the lack of vision he seems to have in doing them.
Getting Dominic Moore for a 2nd was a little steep but Moore proved to be very valuable in the faceoff circle, as a checker and added some offense.
So what does Goats do? Doesn’t re-sign him in the off-season, the Habs are still looking for that type of player.
Acquiring the Wiz when Marksoft went down for a 2nd was great and Wiesnewski even brought more than a lethal slap shot with him, he brought some needed backend sandpaper.
So what does Goats do? Doesn’t re-sign him either, yes, he’s pricey but with Marksoft being a hybrid of Bobby Orr/Gord Kluzak injury-wise, wouldn’t the cash have been best thrown at a guy that at least sees the ice?
The Kaberle thing is just panicky and downright stupid, Goats seems to be making trades and moves as reaction rather than pro-action.
The man is just not fit to be the GM of this team, maybe some less visible market but not in the microscope of Montreal, the fans are way too smart…

For me the Kaberle trade in and of itself is reason enough to fire him. Kaberle is a part of the loser Leaf crew that they finnally purged thenselves of when they traded that load. And who picks him and his untenable contract up, PG!!
As for Cammy, it has knee jerk written all over it, it reaked of desparation, it was embarrassing the way it went down!! Plus, if he didn’t test the water league wide, even though I personally like the trade, it’s another reason to fire him. Yes he was talking to Calgary before Cammy beaked off, but, after he beaked off, he pulled the trigger right away. You just never know what could have been, had he taken more offers. Cammy was probably the biggest fish on the Habs!
As for the rest of his entire body of work, assuming it was exclusively his, the Markov/Wiz fiasco, excluded, not terribly bad. But, for these two embarrassing blunders, he HAS to GO!!!!! Take BG with him.
Sal from the Hammer
I reckon this is incisive and (for a fan) objective analysis. (I would echo some reservations about the Kaberle deal). However, since this season went sour I’ve reckoned the scape-goating of various players and staff — currently featuring Gauthier centre-stage — is actually more about how us Montreal fans, with our history-driven sense of entitlement and impatience, must find individuals to blame when we don’t get the gratification we want from the team.
I’m not quite defending Gauthier, because I don’t have the inside knowledge to know who should really be held to account for what, ie. to know whether or not the season is Gauthier’s fault.
What I do reckon I know, however, and with respect, is that it is in the nature of fans and their passion, especially of teams like the Habs, Yankees and Man U — and I include myself there — to go head-hunting first and do the analysis later.
Since72, your analysis is measured and goes some way below the surface. Most of the attacks on Gauthier on HIO are superficial and, well, fueled by passion.
A question for you, Since72, because you seem prepared to endorse Gauthier, is where would you rank him? Or in other words, if he’s good, is he just good enough or is he good leading to eventual comparisons with Selke or Pollock?
Cheers
Curious that suddenly PG is making his presence at various games noticed. We haven’t seen where this guy has been for years and now we know every evening which game he is watching/scouting.
PG`s travel is a non event.
As if his job is to stay comfortably at home and enjoy the day..
Furthermore as if at this time of the year this was not a natural phenomenon as we are getting closer to trade deadline.
As if in the Habs situation there is nothing to be done to improve the team or to try to deal certain players before they go for nothing in return.
You’re contradicting yourself. If he’s traveling to other games to make deals then it’s not a non-event.
–
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
Just saying that this is not a spectacular event. At this time of the year as during the rest of the season it is his job to travel everywhere and maintain pr with others. Most of the time we just do not notice that he is somewhere else.
Why does a ghost suddenly become visible?
Maybe his house is haunted!

Great meeting you and the Mrs. last night. We enjoyed the food and the compony very much. chrisadiens is still sound asleep but we are headed to the HOF today. Thanks again for the great evening.
And in other ex-Hab news …
Cammalleri wins it for the Flames in the shootout.

And the news just keeps getting better and better huh 72?
The grumpy old men (Gainey, Gauthier, Martin) have driven a lot of players away from Montreal.
You wonder whether they didn’t do the same with Cammi. It’s fairly clear that JM undermined him.
–
Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better.
Geez..really. Now we are going to start the “Cammy should never have been traded” thing
Give me a break. Cammy was the worst player on the ice most nights and hasn’t produced in 2 year. We were super lucky to dump a $6 million contract on a soft, arrogant underproducer who was a problem in the room.
Agree 31, especially if Cammy was tanking it here, he’s an Effing GOOF!!
Sal from the Hammer
Two thoughts. Julien is a goon coach and the League continues to lose credibility.
The habs had the voodoo on the bruins, so for them its been all about finding a way to beat the habs. So now, the habs must not whine and find another way to respond.
[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.
I would add that julien did remove the ‘A’ from recchi’s sweater after the finger incident.
And the big one that was left out was Horton spraying the tb fan with a water bottle. That exact thing got torts a game suspension. All it got for Horton was a game 7 game-winning goal. That was proof-positive that Colin Campbell was in Boston’s back pocket.
I am no fan of the Bruins by any stretch, but neither am I a fan of the Canucks. Kinda curious that they omitted the series-ending hit on Horton, Burrows trying to chop Thomas’ stick out of his hands on the power play and the Hamhuis check on Lucic, which was almost identical to Marchand’s hit on Salo this year (only it was still a Canuck who got injured!). And as if to really drive the point home of the Canucks’ higher moral ground, they display the Sedins’ unselfish and generous donation to the children’s hospital. Please.
Sure sounds like a fans of the Goons!

After the Yaroslavl tragedy, that post is a disgrace. Mods, where are you ?
well, the sedins and the nucks were one of the few teams that spoke out after Max P had his neck broke and the league did nothing about it….I give the sedins credit as they are obviously class acts. My question is what do you think is going to grow the game of hockey more….the bruins and their stupidity or good hockey?
You bring up points about the cannucks dirtiness…remember marchand punching the sedins repeaditly in the face with no penalty? It is and was an embarrassment to hockey
On a hip check, which was what Hamhuis used on Lucic, the knees are not bent. On the Marchant hit, his knees are bent.
Sal from the Hammer
The Bruins are the instigators of all this goonery. They punch and slash and elbow and when someone retaliates, they point to that as justification for their own thuggery.
The Bruins are constantly involved in this kind of ugliness. The Canucks routinely play a fast skilled brand of hockey. The Bruins don’t play hockey, they drag the other team in the gutter with them.
The hit on Horton was a late, clean hit, well within the usual standards of the NHL. Unfortunately for Mr. Horton, he hit the ice head first and got knocked out, which made Aaron Rome look bad and get suspended. In fact, the hit by Mr. Rome was in line with some of Scott Stevens’ best work.
Dan Hamhuis’ hit was a regulation hip check along the boards, as has been practiced in the NHL for decades. You’ll notice that Mr. Hamhuis led with his behind, as opposed to diving for the knees head first.
We all understand that this video was put together by a Canucks fan and is not an objective point of view, but it’s valid to point out that the Sedin brothers are gentlemen and community-oriented citizens of Vancouver, as opposed to bRat ‘Lusch’ Marchand. Who would you prefer to have as your next-door neighbour? Who would you want to show up at your door to pick up your daughter or sister for a date? The NHL should be promoting the Sedins, and protecting them and players of their ilk from the thugs on the Bruins, rather than the other way around.

Hopefully kopitar !
So… Gauthier at LA game… hope he`s not interested in Penner.
Also halak had a terrible season last year because he lead a team to the third round and was rewarded by being booted from that team to never land. How would you feel ? He’s just getting back in his head mentally halak is back but not for Montreal !
Price is a good goalie but he won’t ever be a great goalie in Montreal. He can’t take the pressure , halak was able to take the pressure. He may not have won anything in the NHL but neither has price. Halak has more playoff wins than price and for the first time in almost 20 years we have gotten to the third round and the two players that got us there (halak , cammalleri) are gone ! ? Wouldn’t the smart thing to to would have been to build around those two players? Get good D to help halak and get a big center to set up cammy. This team has become a joke everything they need to do they do the opposite! What about trading Eller back for halaaaaaaak
.
GAUTHIER MUST GO ASAP! ( and don’t replace him with another business man instead of a knowledgable hockey person)
the pressure of having a AHL defense in front of him? Please, Halak wasn’t good last year and price isn’t this year. They are both good goalies. St Louis is a far seperior team to the habs in every way hence why Halak is playing well.
Looks like the real Halak is back. Taking down 1-0 victories like it was nothing. The real Price is also back, always playing just bad enough to lose. Yup, what a surprise…
looks like the real ManApart is back, too. Douching it up like in the good ol’ days.
LOL he never changes, always cherry picking crap to justify his own retardation.

I love the way people talk about Halak’s shutout but forget to add he faced only 15 shots – against Edmonton without Hall, Nugent-Hopkins and who knows who else.
I can’t be bothered to see details.
Hey, it’s not just tonight. Look at the man’s record the past 2 months. Pretty much the top goalie in the league in that time frame.
Didn’t Price only have 16 shots against him playing the Caps? How many went in?
Easy to bash the guy who go the shutout cuz he only faced 15 shots, but our superstar faces one shot more and lets in THREE. Just sayin…

I’ve got the faith!
As bad as the Habs may be, I never want them to be like the Bruins. What a completely classless organization. But live by the sword, die by the sword. The Bruins are going to experience one devastating injury after another; they have teams wired to play physically against them and it will backfire in time. And I’ll be feeling oh so sorry for them, NOT. Marc Savard is only the beginning. Marchand, make CDs and take lots of pictures, because when you’re 40 they’re going to be spoon feeding you gruel and hoping to get you to remember how to go to the bathroom on your own. And it won’t be someone else’s fault, it will be yours.
Stu Hackel and Boone are my heros for finding this video!! This will go in my vault for my Massachussetts buds! You have mad my day…and yes video of the century!
Pretty sure there were 3 of us who posted this here yesterday…that’s how they found it

No, that’s not how I found it. I saw it first on my Facebook page, posted by a friend who saw it on another website.
FIRE GAUTHIER, FIRE GAUTHIER, FIRE GAUTHIER
Another shutout by Halak…. I like Eller, so I will try to stay silent, although the Halak vs Price debate might be heating up again.
Markov, Kaberle, SK74, Cammy, Moore, O’Byrne, throwing in draft picks…..enough of this amateur destroying our beloved Habs.
Would the traded players really be doing well, or did they need a change of scenery? We can’t know that.
In the end, just like almost every move management makes, it will be shown that montreal let the wrong goalie get away

Wow, cool story!
I only wished the video showed half of the dirty plays the Bruins have made.
Also, it was funny see those Jon Stewart clips again. I remember how most of them were originally intended, so I laughed twice.
Fun stuff yet eerily factual !
This BRUINS squad reminds me of a similar roster they had throughout the 1970s and 1980s i.e. a bunch of goofs.
It was so much fun watching the flying Frenchmen in the 1970s and a similar skilled/tough 1980s HABS roster knock them out annually in the playoffs. Easily some of the best hockey, bench brawl and all.
My only question is…what the hell has happened to our Les Glorieux since 1993…????? Geez. Damn…!!!!

What makes it so funny?
It’s nothing but TRUE!
Lol,,,,that Joe from Boston had the exact same ”square peg in a round hole” comment on team 990 the other day,,,lol…this guy obviously has no life,,,,listening and calling Canadian sports shows all the time,,,haa, what a goof!

Irony, just a tad!

Incredible video – I have now watched the video three times on
three different websites still laughing……
I fell for it too.
They have Elliot, thus they don’t need another starter… why start a controversy?
That’s great, and I am pretty sure no sane team would give up Price for Halak.
Mate, it’s the most over-rated goalie in the league. I will never forget his choking act in World Championships in Slovakia, as well as numerous times in Montreal. 8 good playoff games don’t make him a elite goalie, that’s for sure.
Play him more than 60 games a year and he’s letting in 5 goals a game in playoffs.
I thought it was great.
What are you on about? It was on the money.
Are you kidding it was hilarious

Wrong. Halak is back in a big way and is now Hitchcock’s #1. I’d take Elliot in Montreal in a second the way Price finds a way to lose every game.
