DD’s Got Game.

Just got home and showered from a busy night at work so obviously I missed the game. I checked in twice on my Iphone (earlier in the season I would have checked every minute or had the game on the JUSTINTV App but, the season being what it is I only checked in twice, these sorry @s players should be grateful for that much coming from me this sorry @s season) on the NHL network. (By the way the TSN app is sooooo lame, no period by period shot total breakdowns to name a few of my peeves about this site) But as Costanza once said, I digress…
1st check; end of second period, 3-1 Habs.
OK, I like to see them win. But deep inside I’m thinking…Tank ya mother’s, TANK!
2nd check; 4-4, seconds to go in the 3rd. ‘Oh no’, I’m thinking, (actually that thought came after my initial reaction which was a burst of laughter that had customers and subordinates looking at me with curious eyes {they might have been fearful eyes, come to think of it} and my thoughts became as scrambled as the laughter that emanated from my confused state of being, it was an awkward sight to say the least)
So, ‘oh no’ as I was saying…they’ll get a point at least. Why. WHY! WHY am I so angry about that? Why am I so CONFUSED? WHY should I be ANGRY and DESPERATE to see my favorite team LOSE?! Where is this pathetic inspiration to lose (or loose as some posters here would spell it, take your pick) Why should I want LOOSING for the one and only team I’ve ever had an affinity for! WHY?!!!!! WHY?!!!!!!
Then it came to me. It’s HIO! YES! I’ve been brain-washed. HIO is Jonestown! I’m chugging cool-aid every time I browse this site and read the posts. Oh no, paranoia’s setting in. Who’s Jim Jones? Is it HARDHABIT? No, it can’t be, he might be bitter but his heart is in the right place.
Is it BILL? Jeez his avatar of a sinuously smirking Mueller creeps me out. But no. It’s not him. It can’t be. He’s wearing a cravate!

Few months ago, met Mr. Theo Fleury. Shook his hand, and was shocked by how built he was and how strong he was. I don’t doubt that DD is ripped.
DD is on pace for what I would expect of Scott Gomez.
But I still want to give DD some time, it takes small players like him a couple more years to fully develop into big point producers, like Danny Briere or St. Louis.
It also took DD several years at every level he’s played at to become a big time point guy. In the Q it took him until his 2nd season to be a point producer. In his first year as a pro, he lit up the ECHL but couldn’t crack the AHL. In his 2nd pro season he had 24 goals and 58 points, and in his third pro season he dominated the AHL. This is DD’s 2nd NHL season and he’s putting up respectable numbers. You can only hope his numbers continue to rise and he hasn’t hit the ceiling yet.

I kept expecting Morgana ‘The Kissing Bandit’ to run out on the ice and plant a sloppy one on Ryan White, or maybe a streaker getting tackled by security at center ice.
Love White’s smirk. Come on lets go. The Staubitz effect is setting in. Though only 2 min in penalties, 8:33 Min played (where are all the posters he only will play 2 minutes a game) +/- o. Toughest game the habs have played all year. No one backed down from anyone. Great effort. Just bad last 4 minutes. BTW where were all the Price haters after the SO, even though the last Wild shooter was looking for any hole to crawl into.

Wild night for strange plays – Never seen a 5 on 1 in The NHL as in Jets/Fla game…….
What a F’d up game to say the least… I don’t want to sound like the guy who changes his mind from game to game but I for one think this team with some twitches here and there (Mostly on D) can be a good team… In my mind, this season was just filled with bad luck, freak accidents, bad decisions from management and in some case players… It is the type of season that players just want to be over as soon as possible so they can have a summer off and come back stronger from the next season…
As long as KAberle, Campoli, Diaz and Webber wont be all part of our D next season I am pretty optimistic.

Have to give them credit I suppose for a 1-line team. they almost blew it but hung on for the shootout win. like I said earlier today. we have 4-good forwards. if we can come up with a 2nd and 3rd line over the summer as well as training camp. we’ll have a good team here. another 4-5 good scoring forwards with toughness it’s gonna be great. that’s the only thing that will improve this team. start looking PG. not enough scores.

I see many putting this near loss on Carey Price. So he tried for any empty net goal, big deal! The way this team let him down this season Carey deserves to score many goals. The goals tonight were all on the weak D not Carey Price!

No sir it was not. If they were in 8th spot or on the bubble then yes a stupid play. BUT these guys know that this season is over so why should Carey not try to score a goal?
Regardless of their position in the standings, his teammates were playing hard to defend the lead. He decided to showboat. Bad form.
If it had been 7-0, no problem. Otherwise, it was inexcusable.

Can you even imagine the team’s record without that first line? I don’t have the stats, but these three guys must have about half the points of the team’s total!

Oh well, let’s say one third of the goals then. Still, one has got to wonder how they would do on a good team.
Hey, 37% is HUGE, and to think in the new year is when this line really picked up.. i’d say close to 50% in 2012. Imagine if Pleks had Gionta and Bourque played together for an extended period, I’d say they’d pot their share.. two solid lines. Bottom 6 is Eller and scraps though.
I know it is huge! Season has been crap, most of the team has been crap, so it’s nice to see something positive through all that mess.
Desharnais just gets it…you can see that the game has slowed down for him.

I am not DD’s biggest fan as a true number one, but the way he sees the ice is something special and can not be taught. To be able to spot open players and execute tape to tape passes in major traffic is a gift.
And the way he fights for the puck and can maintain possession against much bigger guys.
Have to admit I’m changing my mind about him. He’s go-to.

Any anxiety I have is gone when the puck is on DD’s stick.
Last season MaxPac was on pace for a 58 point season with Gio and Gomez. This season he is on Pace for 62 points. Not to take anything away from DD but its only 1 season. And I really am surprised people think MaxPac is scoring only cause of DD.
All I know is in that regard we are looking good. Now we need another line.
I am one of those that doesn’t think DD is a Number One Center on a perennial championship contending team. He is currently the number one on a last place club.
Totally agree. I’d like to think that the line works well together and that they all compliment each other.
Looking back at most of PK’s PP goals from last year I noticed he was usually at the top of the circle when he scored. This year he has been shooting from much farther out and not scoring. Recently, he has been taking shots from further in and potted a couple. Also, the game 7 tying goal again Boston last year was on a play where he sneaked in a couple strides.
