Video: Cammy, Sopel question marks?

Canadiens forward Michael Cammalleri and defenceman Brent Sopel took therapy days, not skating at Brossard practice on a rotten Montreal winter’s day.

Questioned about their status for tomorrow’s game vs. the Boston Bruins, head coach Jacques Martin waffled a little, not coming right out and saying both are fine and would be available. Audio to come on that soon.

Most of the Habs were on the indoor soccer field a few ticks past 10 am, the practice schedule putting all but Cammalleri, Sopel and Mathieu Darche on the Brossard rink.

Renaud Lavoie of RDS reported that Darche, said to be rehabbing a groin injury, was back on the ice for the first time in 20 days, well before the team. Darche wasn’t on the rink by the time we arrived at 10 am, but the blue line was heavily scratched. Whoever had skated wasn’t using the whole rink.

Carkner over Spacek? If you look at dollars only…maybe…but no comparison as players.

You buy out Spacek and you better have a whole lot more in the D lineup than a Carkner.

Your bars close at 2…Last call is usually 15-20 minutes before the bar closes

i don’t get the second one

    no they aren’t…not even close

Well if you don’t like Schwartz’s then there is something wrong with you…

Tinordi could be BIG for this team – but yes, it will be at least 2 maybe 3 years.

He is not dominating major junior yet.

I think he will return to London for at least 1 more season.

Then 1 year in Hamilton, at least.

I bought a Ludwig jersey back in the day and then gave it to my nephew when he was a little boy.

I don’t think the Habs boutique sold too many Ludwig jerseys, the guy behind the counter went into shock!!

Also was a huge Mike Mcphee fan.

I always rooted for the hard workings stiffs – the guys who came to the arena with their hard hats on.

    Love DD.

He’s a mini version, but he’s all guts!!

That’s my kind of hockey player.

Habs hockey is “smart” hockey – we play 5 man defence, not just 2 – we move up the ice as a 5 man unit, we back check with 5.

Tons of snow falling here in Thunder Bay – and we’re supposed to get two more days of it. There’s been more snow this year than the last five years combined.

Nice that you’re enjoying good weather but so sorry you have to live in Toronto!

  7. LA Loyalist says:

Well you and I are on the same page. You don’t win a cup without a bunch of those guys. Ludwig, McPhee, Skrudland, Carbo, Gainey, Mike Keane, Murray Wilson… we have a long tradition of those guys that gets over-shadowed by the fancy scorers like Lafleur and Richer et cie, but you need a nice mix of both.

I don’t want us rushing Tinordi, or anyone else, let them dominate where they are. Usually the wise move, not always, but usually.

I think PK has personality and skill to come up fast like Roy did, but those guys are the exception, not the rule.

Geez, it’s nice to agree with someone for once :)

his only playoff goal in 36 playoff games.

although it is interesting that he got 3 points in game 7 and 4 points in the total 4 games he played that playoffs.

Overall, I find it interesting how some fans desire the big 4th line guys for us assuming they will be the same or better with the habs than they were with their original team. Then, once we’ve acquired said (barely) NHL player, we complain because they ended up being slow, talentless pluggers who don’t hit and mix it up as much as we had originally hoped (read: over-projected).

It’s funny that a guy whos avatar is a vanity plate from Ontario that says Montreal on it is raggin on Quebec.

Let me school you on some knowledge. First of all Quebec isnt the ONLY province that doesn’t allow vanity plates. Newfoundland and Labrador don’t either.

Second, I think your reasoning behind it being that they are afraid of people putting english on it is pretty weak. Heres why. Unlike Ontario and many other Canadian provinces, Quebec doesn’t require a liscence plate on the front of your vehicle. Because of this, a person can put whatever they want on the front of their car, whether it be in English, French, Itlaian of Chinese.

Finally, vanity plates are lame. I love Quebec and I’m tired of people who know nothing about Quebec ragging on it with some holier than thou attitude.

  15. Bugs says:

Doubt Rupp was instrumental in attaining Cup two years ago. And I certainly don’t remember him having ANY effect on the series we played against one another last year.

Carkner’s abilities weren’t enough to allow his team to even make the playoffs, let alone to serve as an example as to who WE should sign.

A choice between skill and speed in an undersized frame and a “good” 4th lining mastodont ain’t no choice at all because head-to-head, the former is laughing at the latter playing keepaway with the puck.

  17. Trisomy 21 says:

Would you be okay with watching a habs game once a week?

I think after Zednick took an elbow in the chops from Kyle Mclaren in the playoffs they started using the softer elbow pads? or maybe they were considering it? Either way these were just as strong but much softer.. Maybe they could continue with those sort of changes

  18. adam76 says:

Its amazing these people can even use the keyboard.
