Video: Cammalleri, Pacioretty pre-Canucks

Two quick 1080p video clips, featuring comments from Canadiens forwards Michael Cammalleri and Max Pacioretty, before tonight’s game at Rogers Arena vs. the Vancouver Canucks.

The home team’s blue line is beefed up with the return from injury of Dan Hamhuis and Keith Ballard. It’s Carey Price vs. Roberto Luongo in the nets.

Expect Tom Pyatt and Alexandre Picard to be scratched tonight by Habs head coach Jacques Martin.

its funny to see what we can do when we actually skate….canucks didnt know what hit them the first 10 minutes….maybe its our home jerseys?

  3. Adam says:

Because what this team needs is a trade for the sake of a trade.

If there’s nothing on the table, there’s nothing on a table. Trading for the sake of shaking things up is how you end up screwing things over for five years instead of one.

  4. LA Loyalist says:

There’s is still a big cut out poster of Cammi at the practice rink where my kid plays.

Canadiens are 1-10 in the last 11 meetings in Vancouver.

[Disclaimer]: I’m a hockey fan. I care about the habs, but probably not as much as you.

😀 i got a man crush on my boy ryan. I just got a Ducks Tshirt with his name was my 3rd best xmas present behind my laptop which was number 2 and my Pleks Jersey <3

  11. Favorite Son says:

    He’s from Cherry Hill, NJ.

  12. oshawahabsfan says:

Correct me if I’m wrong but he’s from California, plays for Anaheim, hardly a pressure cooker for hockey. From what I’ve seen in interviews as well he seems attitude wise like he would wilt under the pressure

  13. Favorite Son says:

I don’t think he’s been very consistent in Anaheim. I could be wrong though. But yeah, having both would be awesome but wishful thinking.

  17. fbkj says:

cuz he doesnt wear special skates

  18. LA Loyalist says:

Why do you think he won’t re-up here?

  19. SeriousFan09 says:

You are aware Moore was a pending UFA, is getting paid twice what Halpern is getting and Halpern isn’t sitting on a -13 and is a better faceoff guy right?

    – I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.

  20. observer says:

“pre-Canucks” – sounds like they are soon to be traded to Vancouver.

  21. Nine1one says:

FBJK I agree with. What makes you say he’s care free?

Bobby Ryan is one of the best forwards out there.

He’s never lead the play offs in goal scoring well cause he’s only 23 and has been in like 13 games career in the post season.

    You’re making baseless accusations.

  22. scrowe21 says:

I found this kind of interesting coming from Bob McKenzie :

Los Angeles has plenty of draft picks and young prospects in Manchester but if the Kings are to part with Brayden Schennor, and this is a real long shot, Wayne Simmonds, it’s going to take an astronomical contract player coming back. Personally, I would be leery of any Kings’ trade rumor involving Simmonds or any other young, core player on the Kings’ roster.”

I was hoping MTL could try to add Simmonds, but I didn’t think he would be overly expensive trade wise.. Its not like he is putting up big numbers.. meh

  23. adamkennelly says:

Cammy is pissed because he plays on a team that enables opponents to knock him around whenever they want.  Its very difficult for him to be as successful as he would like to be and is capable of being when he is not “protected” by being surrounded by other very skilled players and some size.

He can’t be the “best player” on the ice…makes for a great 2nd best player….

He’s prolly tired of being hurt too.

  24. LA Loyalist says:

Ducks really need a serious goalie with Hiller’s head spinning like Linda Blair. Here’s the plan: we package up Halak, Domenic Moore, Sergei Kostitsyn and Andrei Kostitsyn for Bobby Ryan and maybe a pick.

    There, was that so difficult?

What? We did what? Are you sh*t*n* me? For who?

That’s the last time I let someone borrow my online identity.

  25. observer says:

Re: “Ducks really need a serious goalie with Hiller’s head spinning like Linda Blair” —— Shouldn’t affect them much as they’ve already had the devil himself there as their GM before they exorcised him.

  26. habstrinifan says:

Cammy’s interview… talk about biting your lip/tongue so you wont say what’s on your mind.

Interviewer, “Coach Martin was saying….. “.
Cammy biting lip really hard “OK… blah blah blah blah.”

  27. observer says:

Wizniewski is an unsigned free agent at $3.2 who will want more next year. There goes another #2 for a player who lasted less than a season here.

  28. LA Loyalist says:

Serious, you are the best poster on here and I read everything you write, BUT that was a JOKE, as in Humor.

I’m making fun of my old cranky self (as opposed to my new cranky self) trying to make light of our dire circumstances. I’m not even claiming it was funny.

i have no complaints about Halpern, great move. Just felt bad about Moore. My kid was at his hockey camp a couple of days after he signed with Tampa and Moore didn’t tell the kids. He was still wearing his Habs gloves and baseball cap and it was pretty sad, if you want to know the truth.

Cammalari was there too, but he didn’t really interact with the kids they were doing their own training.

That’s life in the NHL, I know.

Keep up the great work. You are the voice of sanity (not that I’m any expert).

  29. LA Loyalist says:

Would he play for California Golden Seals? They had special skates.

  30. CanadienBoy says:

The WIZ -18 last years and early this year, is only -2 after 21 games as a Habs. The only two players to trade are AK and at all cost Gomez -18 because they don’t care anymore as well ours small player’s need support regardless of what GM and co think they are already worn out fighting back bigger guys all the times

  31. gloveside says:

We already missed the boat on Stewart and Neal.

  34. Rainrocket16 says:

I gotta tell you, I was at work today and kept checking in time to time on here…All you who have been bashing Cammy today should be ashamed of yourselves and take a step back from blogging on here because you are doing no good to this site or the CH!!! Adamkennelly’s post said it all! Cammy like all the other Habs on this team cannot reach their full potential due to the fact that they have no protection from bigger opponents. A great example was when Cammy went down in the Buffalo game from behind and no one countered for him! No one on this roster other than BP and TM are take no crap kind of players…PG needs to get size or an enforcer with skills and protect these little guys or we will be playing golf a little early this year!

Cammy has been a proud member of this team since he got here, kind of sad when people are talking about who and what we can get from Bobby Ryan!! I say F’ him, he aint a Hab (yet anyways). If Cammy goes, there goes our biggest threat on the PP and anywhere outside the hash marks..

I am not saying that Cammy can’t or won’t be traded, but to just wish him away for someone else so quickly is really disrespectful! Cammy aint no BUM!!

  35. LA Loyalist says:

Thank you. But what is advantage to PG/BG in waiting? What am I missing here? You want to avoid a bidding situation, no? How can that strategy make the price lower? By making the player feel insecure? What is this, kindergarten?

In general, the non-negotiating policy during the season made sense when the players made their own deals, but now with agents and lawyers handling it, that seems out of date.

As for Wiz, the way he padded up for the game on Sunday after that head shot? Cut the crap, sign him up, we need his balls.

  37. observer says:

of burke and gauthier which one won a stanley cup there?

  38. LA Loyalist says:

Yep, not sure of the chronology though. Then they became the Cleveland Barons. Drove through Cleveland once. Was scared to stop.

  39. Danno says:

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  40. observer says:

i believe gauthier lied- but he said last year after the bozo dufus gainey kept saying it has been habs policy ALLTIME to never negotiate during the season with a player. and people knocked the fool as saying there was no free agency in the past and all other teams do it- well when gainey stepped down to become assistant to his former assistant gautier said he would negotiate with plekanec but of course nudge nudge wink wink never offered him enough to close such a deal during the season. now he acquires wiz a free agent like all those others he traded for and gave up a #2 for BUT does not sign him to a longer deal and if you notice no other habs free agents have been resigned so far and today a french paper says gauthier will not even offer gorges a RFA in july any new deal until after the season. seems like same ol’ gainey/gauthier bulkl all over again. getting back to wiz once it hits july 1 any other team is in the bidding driving his price up for the habs. i repeat ive seen this movie before.

  41. LA Loyalist says:

    I will research and confirm.

  42. Danno says:

Weren’t they yellow, or gold, to match their ugly uniforms?

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  43. LA Loyalist says:

that was like an episode of Red Green without the suspenders.

    ca change, plus ca change.

  44. LA Loyalist says:

They were white. Doesn’t that make them special?

Can you imagine showing up and your gear is there, and the skates are… white?

P.S. My brains may be rented, but my hair is my own.

  45. scrowe21 says:

Apparently they atleast tried to get Stewart.. Which gives me hope that the rumors about trying to get Ryan are true.

  46. Favorite Son says:

Well said. Bobby Ryan is a bum, I don’t want him on this team. I prefer Cammi’s attitude by far.

  47. fbkj says:

I have been to cleveland and this bar/tavern had a “world tour of beer” menu. 108 types of beer from around the world. From 4% to 12% beer. My Navy (CF) buddy and I shared beers. We managed to visit a third of the world… and then walked back to the ship. It wasn’t a bad city. People seemed really firendly and could hold nice conversations, even at 2a.m. Good memories!

  49. Bugs says:

Plus ça change, plus ça reste pareil, you mean.

  50. Nine1one says:

Lol he plays everywhere for the ducks. He played first line center when getz was injured for 4 weeks and did just fine.

he’s played on all lines and made those lines better.

If you’re really trying to tell me Cammy is better than Ryan you need to watch some duck games.

Also I agree he wouldn’t but cammy’s not doing that great either

    and I know lol

  51. Nine1one says:

i’d give up subban for ryan

  52. Favorite Son says:

He wouldn’t do as good with the Habs. He plays with Getzlaf and Perry. Who’s he going to play with here? Gomez and Gionta? Please.

But anyway, this trade isn’t going to happen.

  53. gloveside says:

No way they get Ryan if they wouldn’t give up PK for Stewart and Shattenkirk. That may come back to haunt them I think.

  54. Nine1one says:

    Bobby Ryan > Cammy

Ryan has two 30 goal seasons in a row and is about to have his third; Plays defense. Plays the power play and PK. Bobby Ryan will do more for our powerplay than cammy does if we get him.

  55. Mark C says:

No point in re-signing Josh until the summer, like you said he’s an RFA and there won’t be an offer sheet coming his way. Might as well wait until management can get a better read on his rehab before offering big bucks. Wiz and Markov are the only UFA’s of note, and there are good reasons to wait on both.

  56. Nine1one says:

LOL are you kidding? Bobby Ryan is the ducks go to guy. He plays in every situation. Is a great guy. Stop being a hater. And Bobby ryan is one of hte premier powerforwards.

  57. LA Loyalist says:

Great points — but… if we don’t add some toughness by next week, what’s the point of keeping Cammi?

He’s wasted if he can’t maneuver with a modest expectation of real estate in which to operate – and as there is no other sniper on his line, other teams can key on him. It must be very frustrating ergo his terse comments.

We either have to get another sniper on his line, or more beef. Preferably both, though that isn’t easy.

    It’s frustrating, isn’t it?

  58. LA Loyalist says:

    exactemondo, amigo-san.

  59. LA Loyalist says:

How is Bobby Ryan a bum? I don’t see it as either Cammi or Ryan, man I’d love both of them — but you can’t get steak by trading hamburger – and we are mostly hamburger, I’m afraid to say.

Or “hambourgeois” as they say in Outremont :)

  60. Nine1one says:

I know what ya mean, I just honestly think that we’d be better with ryan. He’s also almost always helped carry the load when one of the big three went down. He’s probably the best sniper on that team (cept maybe teemu)

  61. Favorite Son says:

Yeah man, I know Ryan’s better but I’m just not convinced he’d do good here. He has a great support staff in Anaheim. Plus I really like Cammi…He’s been injured both years he’s played here so I don’t think we’ve seen the best of him.

  62. StevieRay says:

    The Gumper !!!!!

  63. Nine1one says:

I agree; But I’d much rather have one of the best powerforwards though :p we get him we’ll have 3 of the top 5 from the 2005 draft o.O pouliot, price and bobby

  64. Nine1one says:

heh; he hasn’t but he’s been getting better. But neither is cammy and ryan plays the pk too.
