The Canadiens have invited 24 prospects, including last month’s first-round draft picks Ryan McDonagh and Max Pacioretty, to the team’s annual development camp from July 10-15 at Jacques Lemaire Arena in Montreal-suburban LaSalle.
The campers will first take to the ice on Tuesday, July 10, at 9 a.m. The development camp consists of two-hour on-ice sessions every morning, with the exception of July 11, when the practice will take place in the afternoon.
Off-ice conditioning sessions are also scheduled daily. Players will attend a series of seminars on various topics such as nutrition, strength and conditioning, player development and media relations.
Twenty of the 24 players at camp are Canadiens draft selections. All nine players from the 2007 NHL Draft held last June in Columbus will be attending, including first-round picks Ryan McDonagh and Max Pacioretty.
The group also includes defenceman David Fischer, the Canadiens’ first-round selection in 2006, as well as defenceman Mathieu Carle and forwards Benjamin Maxwell and Mathieu Aubin.
