Tinordi sent down to Hamilton, Pateryn called up

The Canadiens announced on Wednesday morning that defenceman Jarred Tinordi has been sent down to the AHL’s Hamilton Bulldogs. Later in the day the Canadiens announced that defenceman Greg Pateryn was being called up from Hamilton.

Tinordi was a healthy scratch for Tuesday’s 4-3 loss to the Edmonton Oilers at the Bell Centre with Nathan Beaulieu taking his spot on the blue line.

Tinordi was pointless in six games with the Canadiens, with nine penalty minutes and was even in the plus/minus stats.

Douglas Murray (upper body) and George Parros (concussion) skated on their own Wednesday in Brossard with Murray saying he’s getting “closer” to returning to the lineup.

“I just want to hit some people,” he said.

Carey Price, who will start Thursday night against the Anaheim Ducks at the Bell Centre (7:30 p.m., TSN-HABS, RDS, TSN Radio 690) was the first player on the ice for Wednesday’s practice working on rebound control with goalie coach Stephane Waite.

“It’s important to work on the little details in your game,” Price said. “It helps you refocus and get prepared for the upcoming games.”

Here’s how the lines and defence pairings looked at practice:

Eller said the wrong words – Edmonton proved one thing – They may play like a junior team and a good junior team right now can beat the Habs – The rest of this week will be a real test for the Habs if they want to stay in the top half of the Eastern Conference!!
