Time to cut down on penalties: Hickey

In his Standing Pat column, The Gazette’s Pat Hickey writes that the big concern coming into the season was the Canadiens’ power play, but after taking seven penalties on Wednesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes, including giving up two 5-on-3s, the concern now should be cutting down on penalties.

The good news is that the Habs were able to kill off most of the penalties on this night, but head coach Guy Carbonneau could not have been pleased with the number of power plays his team allowed.
