“Alex Galchenyuk — F — It took him a while to get going, but as the game went on Galchenyuk was a continual threat. He made some beautiful moves to beat the D and was able to find time and space in the offensive zone. He has good wheels and the hands are just ridiculous. The U.S. has so often lacked a player of his ability. He could have a huge, huge tournament.”

Galchenyuk staying for the entire WJHC, no matter what. Didn’t MB say the exact opposite a week ago? Or did I dream that?
NHL just axed more games until January 14th.

There’s your deadline.
Perfect, I just hope they cancel the season ASAP so we don’t have to check back on the status of NHL hockey until about August.
Thats now a total of 625 games erased from the 1230 regular season games from the origional schedule. Alot of bucks lost by all.
So that team Canada are a bunch of useless bums, eh?
They sure ain’t MAB.
Nah, the Lads are fine. Its just the Finns got their sh*t together Amigo.
So the big superstar centre we’ve been searching for all these years is better on the wing? Ah well. Least he’s scoring
Can’t wait till Therrien gets his hands on him
He has not played a pro game yet and he is a superstar?
Who said he’s better on the wing?
What if he’s versatile enough to play both?

Maybe we should trade his rights for Saku Koivu if he can’t play center?
He also took a few draws.
Twisted Sister just getting big in Finland now…
My son says its all about “European Speed Metal” up there.
Galchenyuk hasn’t hit the score sheet yet but wow the magic is definitely there.
2-2 after the second period
Sucks when the USA take a penalty cause Gally isn’t getting any PK time but he is on every PP and looking good full strength…
My Goodness this Galchenyuk kid looks like the real deal. Collberg impressed me aswell
Look people. If I didn’t like Cal so much I wouldn’t rib him so. I will confess that I would like to see him raise his standards, that’s all. Crap is crap regardless of how many people tell him his work is awesome. No point in being complacent and putting in a half-arse effort. All that’s required is some line shuffling and Tweaking™. This is a Habs dedicated site after all. It’s important to project an image of first classedness to the world at large. Something that’s been sorely lacking since the departure of Boone and the penchant for people trying to do what I do best, meaning spoof song lyrics. The bad parodies wouldn’t bother me so much if it wasn’t already part of my shtick. Next thing you know Cal is going to be a Tanker™.
Tank? Moi? Never! C’mon, HH. Let us all see a demonstration of your world class parodiness. OR is this all just empty words on a site bereft of real Habs news?

Spendin’ the Crowds
Both sides are rich
They’re two of a pair
One side all standing their ground,
The other don’t care.
Just screwing the crowds.
Ignorant bliss
The fans don’t approve
One side keeps skating around,
The other wont move
Where are the crowds?
There are no crowds
The league wont stop locking their doors,
Annually screwing the ones who just want to see scores,
Acting with contempt once again and an arrogant air,
There’s no more spines,
No heart beat is there.
The league is a farce
Bettman and Fehr
They thought that we’d want what they want
So just buy more beer
But where are the crowds?
Quick, don’t lose the crowds
Don’t bother, they’re scared
Life is a bitch
This much is clear
They’re wasting their time it’s too late
No one will cheer
And where are the crowds?
There ought to be crowds
Well, maybe next year.

You know, HH, I just can’t resist making an ass of myself.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE3dLzIYKs8
Well ain’t this just rich?
We’re such an odd pair
One side just holding its frowns
The other won’t scare.
Just playing with sounds.
Lingering bliss
HIO won’t approve
One who keeps skewing all songs,
The other won’t groove
Where are the throngs?
There are no throngs
The teams won’t stop locking their doors,
Totally screwing the ones who just want to see scores,
Acting with contempt once again and with arrogant air,
Owners without spines,
No common sense there.
This league is a farce
Bettman and Fehr
They thought that we’d want what they want
And just buy more beer
But where are the thongs?
Quick, don’t lose the thongs
Don’t bother, they’re bared
Life is a bitch
This much is clear
They’ve wasted the time; it’s too late
That hour is here
But, where are the crowds?
There ought to be crowds
Well, maybe next year.
Touche mon ami!!
I can only imagine what a lost season to lockout will do to the Tank Brigade, I empathisize with you and your men HH.
It’s the best and the worst of times for the Tank Brigade.
Mtl hasn’t won a game since last season ended but the team is still tied for first place…
Collberg looks good.
Galchenyuk is WOW

Reading Collberg’s doing good against the Americans.
Nice to see some hockey stories in the Gazette about subjects other than the rediculous lockout.
With the Toronto “Argonuts” coming in 3rd on the “nice” list, one has to assume that most of people contacted for this poll live in Southern Ontario.
USA going with 11 forwards for the game against Sweden.
Galchenyuk double shifting. LW on the first line and Center on the fourth line.
Housley doesn’t seem to know where he wants to play him.
Looking at the USA lineup, their LW is much weaker than C, so that might be why they want a player with versatility to move to LW, but weird they can’t make up their minds.

It’d be really cool if they double shifted him the whole tournament. Lots of ice time. What are the chances of that happening and if they want him as a C do they really leave him on the fourth?
They will likely play 13 fwds, not 11 in the actual tournament.
