Maybe all week.
Ottawa: Such a cool, hip, happenin’ place.
And once again, we are thankful that Annakin Slayd lives in Montreal.
Comment on the video..Boy are we bored! No Habs until Friday…
Like some of the crap I post here this video is not to all tastes. The kid’s tryin’, I’ll give him that. No criticism from me.
This is The Montreal One That Came Before, And Is Much Better….or…not that horrible.
That’s what 5 days of no hockey will do to you.
This song just made me hate rap that much more, not to mention the Ottawa Senators. God I hate rap.
Gomez wrote it. With help from Gauthier.
Gainey told them to.
You’ve got my support 100%!! I listened to that garbage when I was young and immature, but after my daughter was born that garbage was excluded from life. It’s ignorant, sexist and pathetic. I was wathching suburgatory with my daughter and they had a scene with a middle aged white lady pulled up to a stop sign bumpen a rap song, with her saying she’s a “gangsta” I was LMAO, until I realized that is the middle class. Atleast here in the states. It’s all just a joke to them, they don’t realize the seriousness, of the BS they’re listening too. It’s all just a joke, but it isn’t to the trash rappping it. It’s very serious to them and in that context, it’s even more disturbing. I’m 100%! against censorship, but selling this garbage as “pop” music is wrong. I love black/death metal, but I would never want it forced on us the way rap/hip hop is. It’s wrong.
I might take some heat for this, but what about trading for Filip Kuba? Big veteran D-man who’s contract expires after this year. He was terrible last year but has been good this year, and shouldn’t cost a lot to pick up.
Marky will be back soon and lot of people are worried about what we will do with Emelin when he comes back as it is. Our D has played very good the last week or 2. I don’t think we need anymore DMen to complicate things.
“They don’t hang Conference Championship Banners from the rafters here”
Oh Em Gee… LOSER
Gomez scored a hat trick. Too bad it was Mario Gomez from Bayern München.
There’s something a lot lamer than this video – like Ottawa’s 3rd jersey. Gives new meaning to the big “O”.
I actually think that’s the nicest jersey they’ve ever worn. Granted that’s like being the best hockey player in Peru, but still.
Seriousfan09 has started a Movember team named McPhee’s Irregulars. Donate to him, or me or the team to raise money for a great cause!
I like it.
Rappers in glasses look nerdy. WHITE rappers in glasses ridiculously so.
How is this any more cheesy than anything Anakin Slayd does?
Not to mention that Anakin Slayd song’s are total Habs jinxers.
Please, no AS this year!!
Tinordi is the first of many prospects who will get their first pro deals this year.
Brendan Gallagher, Michael Bournival, Danny Kristo are all practically locks to get pro deals to restock forward talent on the farm. Our defence is going to be completely reshaped pretty much with Tinordi and than Nathan Beaulieu, Morgan Ellis and Greg Pateryn all eligible for pro deals.
Hamilton will shuffle out a lot of players to make room for these new young guns.
– I shall always remember Captain Koivu. Habs and Hockey.
SF09 on Twitter
Good to see the cupboards are full, and, a promising group to boot. Gonna be fun to watch this group in Hamilton over the next several years. Thanx for keeping us updated SF.
Sal from the Hammer
At the risk of sounding naive, maybe the Tinordi signing is just an expression of good faith. He opted for the OHL when he could have gone to college—in part because the Canadiens wanted him to. And he’s developing much as they’d hoped. I thought he looked very promising in his NHL exhibition games, like he’s meant to play against big men and needs only to learn the timing.
Here’s what the London Free Press said about him couple of weeks ago:
“…the Knights don’t want Tinordi to fight much — not like he did as a rookie last year or at the NHL first-rounder’s training camps with the Montreal Canadiens.
“They need him on the ice as he’s quickly developed into one of the OHL’s better defencemen.”
I might add that he’s the captain of a very good Knights team this year.
Knights are #1 in the CHL right now in fact.
One of my fellow prospect fiends speculated the team and Tinordi were already mostly in agreement about a contract during camp, this was just final details. I believe there was also talk from Gallagher’s agent that the Canadiens are in talks to get the WHL scoring sensation under contract soon as well.
Intriguing, Robert, thanks. A sidenote on the Tinordi-fighting issue: he suffered an eye injury in a fight on Oct. 14, so I hope he keeps a lid on the fisticuffs from here out. Would love to see him play for the Yanks at the WJCs.
He lost the fight, but to a guy who was the equivalent of a professional goon in the OHL and Tinordi scrapped with him before and took a draw.
He’ll have to anyway, talk is he is back this week but wearing extra protection (IE a Cage) so he can’t fight for a bit anyway.
A less talented version of J-Roc.
…and I was trying to come up with a compliment.
Have a +1
Moen for powerforward 2011/12!!
Was trying to put my finger on it and forgot all about J-Roc. Beauteous, Oz.
We been over this and over this,
Awe naw, you can’t not be feelin’ this.
After the spoof on the Subway ad, Jacques Martin raps:
“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”
Odd timing to sign Tinordi to his entry level deal.
indeed, PG must have thought of us, having nothing to discuss
edit : his signing would put the Habs at 49 contracts, right?
Better than the last thread where every 2nd comment posted was about Gomez. It’s getting nauseating.
Sign to trade maybe? Can’t see the reasoning behind signing him now.
you saying this may stir up some interesting conversation.
That thought had occured to me.
The clock on the three years doesn’t start ticking until he plays 10 games so when the contract is signed doesn’t really matter.
I was thinking the same thing, not like they are going to send him to the AHL. Or even deploy him for the Bulldogs playoffs (if they make it there), with the strength of the Knights, odds are they could be in the Memorial Cup and Tinordi will be plying his talents there.
Does this at a minimum mean the team has a spot for him in at least Hamilton next year? The 3 years include 2012-2013,2013-2014,2014-2015
Well, it’s either Hamilton or Montreal (or Wheeling, I guess), I’m pretty sure he’s not eligible for Junior next year.
He is eligible to play as an over-ager but that is highly unlikely, especially since he could go to the Hammer next year.
He can play as an over-ager but I doubt he will. He will almost certainly go to Hamilton for 12-13.
There must be a signing bonus included, maybe he needed some cash…
Quoting Guns N’ Roses in a rap song? Yeah, lame.
But hey, at least he wasn’t wearing some cheesy gladiator costume and reading off of a lyric sheet taped to the inside of his shield.
I’ve always found Ottawa to be a nice city when I’ve visited there but, yeah, lame song.
Guh… is this really the only thread people are posting on?
The Lamest Video Thread?
I feel like anything I say on here is invalid because of the thread’s content.
—Hope Springs Eternal—
not much worthwhile to discuss right now, the boys are not playing.
What? Are you kidding?!
There’s, oh, I don’t know, Gomez…. to talk about…
We can talk about Gomez and what will happen when he comes back…
If he comes back. Gomez, that is.
We can talk about….
I’ll discuss that poutine avatar of your’s…. Haven’t had one in 3 years! I’m jonesing. Severe withdrawal symptoms. Spiders are crawling on my skin. Leprechaun’s are whispering nasty suggestions in my ears which are, speaking of my ears. floating away from my inflamed skull like dragonflies! Send me poutine in this God fearing poutine prohibition country I live in? Please?
The HABelicious HABe (pr. babe) leaned forward and told the bruins fan; “Kiss my HABS!” He took one look at her displayed HABS and realized her HABS were indeed quite kissable, as opposed to his Big Bud ugly Bruinettes with their hair teased sky-high and excessive make-up. A tear ran down his cheek knowing her suggestion was a tease so he did what any red blooded man could do, he converted to HABSnation. All is well.
I don’t recal whom posted it, but someone in Florida posted about a restaurant owned by Quebekers, and he said they had excellent poutine there.
Probably in Hollywood, I’m in Key West, 4 hours away.
It’s a nice looking poutine by the way…orange julip on Decarie?
Twas me, and yes it is in Hollywood. Great place for poutine and other stuff.
Just a good looking poutine I found on google image actually, no idea where it came from.
It’s no better or worse, just another white guy rapping.
That Cap city vid makes me want to pop a cap into my monitor
32 seconds was too much. Maybe I’ll watch the rest of it tomorrow, if I remember to mute my laptop.
yawn…used to love hip hop but its all the same. everybody trying to act hard and cool. white rappers need to come up with their own style too.
ill be in the slot

I don’t understand the hip hop music, but extremely nice website! Very stylish, I like.
thanks man. Hip Hop isn’t for everyone. I am more of a rock guy but for some reason I can write hip hop beats quite well.
and here’s a far less lame video
did ovechkin — after being benched for the ‘goalie pulled, six guys on, last-minute desperation attempt to tie — really refer to his coach as a rhymes with “pat puck” …. http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2011/11/02/ovechkin-on-benching-i-was-pissed-off/
When Gandhi Gauthier and Mohandas Martin took over from Bob ‘BGL’ Gainey things went from bad to wuss.
Gainey still in picture, an advisor to Ghandi Gauthier so we are in wuss still wit BGL in the picture. Gauthier can;t make his own decisions without consulting with Gainey.
“We will win the Cup one day only with ? in the nets “
i dunno whats funnier, you just finding out now that gainey is still in the picture and patting yourself on the back like you did some intrepid detective work
or the fact that you just wrote this in response to tony’s opinion about a sh[tty rap song about ottawa
either case, well done
I’m totally, like, ya know?
Meh to all those videos/music.
oh for crying out loud
This video was pretty dreadful. But Annakin Slayd isn’t exactly high quality either.
By comparison its better, but that doesn’t say much.
Thankful Toronto doesn’t have either
at least AS has collaborated with some of the wu tang clan lol
Hah, true. Maybe this guy can team up with Tom Green.
you just made me youtube some sh[t
now that cant be undone
didnt WU do some stuff with beiber? lol
am I the only one who actually likes the Annakin Slayd song, then?
I can’t be the only one who thinks they’re both lame like SNOW in ’92.
So glad the best rapper from my city is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Moge_dQPeU
You know say Daddy Snow me, I’m gonna blame
A licky boom-boom down
(drops the mic)
i declare you the winner of this battle!
It is what it is…
Odd sidenote…. I saw Snow at the ballet/Les danseurs in Toronto right after Informer got big. He was fully playing up his 15 minutes. Entourage and all. Good for him.
Truth is as you know though in a place like that… anyone with the $$ can be a rap or rockstar!
Jim Carrey mocking Snow: http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=Icb_tRTnA4g
God.. what a slow day at work.. and for Habs news. This feels like early August.
That was truly awesome, although I miss the days when Ottawa’s theme was “Technically Beautiful.” Just before the hi tech bubble burst like one of Freddy Mercury’s dates. Anyway…
Thats some pretty lame stuff, all the hockey songs in general are!!!
SHOOT THE F’Kn PUCK!!!!

Do you agree with Canadiens GM Marc Bergevin's decision to stick with a defence-first identity?
