I never really liked that song. How about this(?):

    ______________________________________ Gionta for Captain.

  2. Chuck says:

This has always been my favourite K&tW song:

Cheer for the crest on the front of the jersey, not the name on the back.

Sunday Video Theatre I

I figure the Lord’s day can go two ways for Canadiens fans:

• You can spend it arguing about whether fatigue is catching up to Jaro Halak and the likelihood he’ll be pasted in Game 1 by either Washington, New Jersey or Buffalo, opening the door for Carey Price to start Game 2 and become the greatest CHinderella story since Ken Dryden in 1971 …

• You could enjoy Evander Kane KOing one of the league premier “agitators” (NHLese for “annoying —holes”):

  1. habs fan from stonyplain says:

that was the prettiest thing i have seen in a long time as I say karma always bites you in the ass

  2. ArmyFan says:

Justice sometimes comes late, but is always sweet.

  3. Big Ted says:

You hate to see most guys get shurt, but Matt Cooke is  aguy who deserves it. Hope he’s got a bad concussion and ends up being out longer than Marc Savard. That would be justice. Cooke picked the fight and Kane did what every other NHL player wanted to do to a cheap shot artists like Cooke.

  4. HAB-PROFESSOR says:

its only a matter of time & odds before someone dies in this game from a fight… the threat is always more effective than the actual attack, thats why Larock was/is the best, he understands the danger of the ‘fight’ and would only take on the other legit fighters. maybe each team should have an official designated fighter..

  5. New says:

I am sorry Cooke was hurt, and I don’t want anyone to be hurt, but frankly if someone needed their clock cleaned I can’t offhand think of a  better choice. You reap what you sow and Kane did exactly what you should do when a back stabbing little sneak throws a stick into you.

  6. Rugger says:

What goes around comes around Cookie, hope you enjoyed the stretcher ride

  7. Danno says:

    Kane “cooked” his goose allright!

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  8. Ron says:

One has to hope Cooke takes a lesson from this one and sticks to hockey because this is what the rest of his days in the NHL will be filled with. All teams are sick of this cheap shot artist and he will be on his back more than enough. As Rugger said what goes around comes around.

  9. mrhabby says:

nice to see what he deserves…in all sports its what goes around comes around..

  10. smiler2729 says:

It’s the morning after and I’m still pissed at the Habs for losing three straight to crap teams only clinching because of “loser points”.

And yeah, Halak was the goalie in all of the stinkers, it’s not THAT he ultimately sucked in the games (especially the Toronto game in our own building yet!) but it’s HOW bad he sucked doing it, all the Leaf goals were so vanilla soft.

When your head is out to lunch during your team’s most important game of the season, that is worth noting. Yeah, Halak gets to start Game 1 but I all but guarantee that we see Carey Price’s star rise a la Ken Dryden if he gets the chance.

As for Matt Cooke’s KO at the hands of Evander Holyfield Kane, it was just sooooooooooooo sweet cuz he deserved that in the worst way. Hopefully Marc Savard had a headache-free smile watching that.

Man, I’m hungover this morning. Go Flyers, I want the Capitals in Round 1.

  11. 21BIGGionta says:

Well he got what he deserved! and i was actually thinking the same thing.. Let Halak play game one..but if its a loss and even though halak played good… Price should play because when Price was playing good and losing he got yanked. Also I’m not liking red fisher’s entry in the gazette this morning at all he really rained on my habs are in the playoffs parade

  12. Danno says:

Red’s a little cranky about last night. But who can blame him? He’s reported on the Habs since the Rocket Richard riots. He’s seen much better versions of the Habs and has every right to tell it like it is. Although it may not be unanimous, Red’s story reflects how many of us feel as we squeak into the playoffs only with the help of some vazeline.

“Hey Richard, two minutes for looking so good!”

  13. DearyLeary says:

That’s the way you take care of someone who doesn’t respect his fellow players.  This is why guys like Georges Laraque are useless.  If someone triest to take advantage of you, you’ve gotta be the one who sends a message.

  14. Josh says:

Took long enough for someone to do that.
