After the team had a day off on Monday, P.K. Subban was back on the ice with his Canadiens teammates in Brossard Tuesday morning as they prepared to face the Boston Bruins Wednesday night at the Bell Centre (7:30 p.m., TSN, RDS, TSN 690 Radio).
The forward lines at practice were Max Pacioretty-David Desharnais-Erik Cole; Rene Bourque-Tomas Plekanec-Brian Gionta; Brandon Prust-Alex Galchenyuk-Brendan Gallagher; Travis Moen-Lars Eller/Ryan White-Colby Armstrong.
The defence pairings were: Andrei Markov-Alexei Yemelin; Josh Gorges-Raphael Diaz; Francis Bouillon-Subban; Tomas Kaberle-Yannick Webber.
After practice, coach Michel Therrien announced that Carey Price would start in goal against the Bruins and that there wouldn’t be any changes to the lineup that won back-to-back games on the weekend against Buffalo and Ottawa.
Meanwhile, the Colorado Avalanche claimed forward Aaron Palushaj on waivers Tuesday. The Canadiens had acquired Palushaj from the St. Louis Blues in March 2010 in exchange for Matt D’Agostini. Palushaj tweeted: “Would like to thank the Canadiens/Hamilton Bulldogs organization and fans for everything. Very happy and excited to join #Colorado #Avs”
Subban is coming off a good first weekend of work after signing his new two-year contract last week. He picked up two assists, was plus-2 and averaged 16:44 of ice time.
However, Hockey Night in Canada’s P.J. Stock believes Subban continues to be a very square peg in a dressing room full of round holes.
The Gazette’s Dave Stubbs disagrees, writing: “Stock’s opinion, delivered on a national stage, was pure gibberish that mistakenly could shape the belief of many viewers that there’s a gulf the width of the St. Lawrence River dividing Subban and his teammates.”

Win or lose tomorrow, the Boston Bruins are a better hockey club than the Montreal Canadines. Tomorrow night’s game will tell us just how close the Canadiens are to competing among the league’s elite teams. A big win would bring us closer.
There could be flukey goals, bad officiating, but normally a game between Boston and Montreal is of the highest quality. So if the Habs come away with a convincing win, it could be a massive boost to the team and hopefully a glimpse of the way things are going to be down the road.
It would be a great to see Subban bang home a couple on the PP off the feed from Markov. I think it’s just about time the Pacioretty-Desharnais-Cole line broke out now that Desharnais has his game going.
We’re in good shape heading in with zero injuries! I can’t remember the last time we were 100% healthy playing Boston?

While he will be missed in Hamilton, indeed I hope this is a chance for him. Interesting side story, the Bulldogs had a practise at an arena about 1,000 yards away from my house a little while back. At first I was the only person watching (I happened to recognize Stortini driving past me and pull into parking lot) then I noticed a young kid with a Dogs shirt with Palushaj on the back.
This young kid (about 12 years old) proceeded to tell me how Aaron was his favourite player and how mad he was at Montreal for stealing all the players last year. I tried explaining to him to focus on Gallagher, Beaulieu and Tinordi, and he wanted no part of that. Palushaj was the best player and he had met him.
Was truly a fan of the Dogs and was going on a bus trip with the team later in year as part of Bulldogs fanclub. Unfortunately Palushaj was injured before that trip, which probably broke the kids heart.
But was nice to hear how Palushaj had impacted this young fans life. Thought I would share.
Cheers for that. I hope Palush makes it. It will be tough for him unless there’s an expansion I’m afraid. Good on the Habs for letting him make a go of it elsewhere.

Can’t remember names but one was Japanese and the other was doing something neat with Lobster. I don’t get farther then the Pumphouse when I visit your city… love their brew!
I haven’t been to the Lobster place, but the new Japanese place is great. Only problem is it is way overpriced, IMO. Sushi is twice as expensive here as it is in Halifax even, and three times as much as in Vancouver!

That was hilarious. I loved Healy’s responses. Funny that Leaf fans think HNIC is full of haters. I’ve always thought the opposite. I usually watch the RDS broadcast on Saturdays… and I don’t even speak french!
The production and on-air talent is so inferior compared to the likes of TSN. I don’t mind the commentators at all (although Bob Cole is getting to the point where I wonder what game he’s watching sometimes), but the panel… it’s so bad it’s uncomfortable to watch.
