Stastny returns to Avs lineup

PREGAME AUDIO: Ryan O’Byrne | Joe Sacco

With the exception of spares Yannick Weber and Tom Pyatt, the Canadiens slept in this morning.

The Avalanche did skate snd received some good news when Paul Stastny was cleared to play tonight after missing one game with a back injury.

Colorado has won five games in a row despite a string of injuries. Kyle Cumiskey, Peter Mueller, Kyle Quincey and Chris Stewart are out indefintely while Milan Hejduk and Cory McLeod are day-to-day with groin injuries.

T. J. Galliardi returned to the lineup last week after missing 17 games with a broken wrist.

Tonight’s game starts at 6 p.m. local time which is 8 p.m. back home. It’s on RDS, TSN-A and CJAD Radio-800).

  1. WestHab says:

No need for the time calculation as back home still means 6p.m.

It’s nice to get back to hockey the saturday night off was unproductive. Boone did a piece on cherry and I went to see a flames vs. wild game worst game i’ve ever attended.

    – Who will be at the Heritage Classic?

  2. NightRyder says:

If I had to guess, I’d say O’Byrne tries too
hard tonight, makes a few mistakes and plays a poor game. He’ll then go
back to playing extremely well again.

    On a semi-related note, I
was at the Toronto-Vancouver game last night, tortured by the knowledge
that both teams could not lose.

I took some solace, however, in
the fact that Komisarek was absolutely terrible. Just awful. Really,
really awful in a way that makes you feel good about his long-term, fat
contract and minimal production for the Loafs.

He made Gomez look like a league-minimum bargain.

  3. Habscat says:

Big game tonight, and one we should win. With all of the injuries that the Avs have, we have to take advantage. I am looking for a 2 goal performance from the captain tonight! (4-2 MTL) Go Habs Go!
